More ChrisTrains on the way - new Eurostar!

Post by simont »

From his email newsletter:
My Euro Loco Pack is no longer for sale. Whilst this might seem like a bad thing, it's actually good news for MSTS fans - JustTrains have agreed to let me update some of the models and re-release them free. Expect to see the Eurostar 2.0, the new NS2200, the new IRM Regiorunner and some new goods vehicles in the next couple of weeks!
Excellent News!

Not being funny, but downloading a *.exe from Blurg.com doesnt fill me with faith :(, l'm sure its fine but the page before that links to it to see that were really getting what we should be would be nice.

Whilst a direct link is much appreciated in this case it sort of leaves one a bit wary what an on earth there downloading ?, or l am l just paranoid these days ?.

Best regards

I know what you are saying Michael but I looked at who posted the link and saw they are are very active member and someone who I respect the views of so I downloaded it. I still did a routine virus scan and did a google search on the filename before running it.

You are also a very active member and someone who I respect I would do the same for a link you provided.

You might regard this as foolish but I have adequate backups and I only take links from people I trust. If a new member provided a link I would probably only use it on one of our test machines in work that are totally firewalled from the network and very disposable - we just re-image them if they get trashed.

Cheers

Glad to see my post was taken in the spirit intended, like you l trust the host poster and like you ran all the normal checks, others may not and others may not be so discerning when posting links, just wanted to try.....in the nicest possible way..... to say that sometimes its wise to reduce peoples fears in this day and age and perhaps provide a little more information.

Will fire it up tomorrow and see what its like.

Kindest regards

Michael

The new E Star model is great. The passenger view is cool - First class just like it is when i travel on the real one.

Love the white rose one. (Another beauty of a model)

I wonder if Chris Longhurst will try and Beat Dave Babb's HST model with a new one (If he does do you think he'll succeed? Would be a tough task but i'd like to see him try)

Cheers

Martin Thanks for posting these so quickly. Just one point that I've noticed when people post pictures of their favourite models, and this isn't aimed just at you, is that just like the real world the subject can be seen better when the light is on it :-?

It's not too bad with the white livery of Eurostar, but Darker liveries just become lost in the shadow :(

BTW what UK routes already existing in MSTS would GNER use these on? I'm mainly a BR and Earlier fan, but "minds, like parachutes, work best when they're open"

Likewise..... :-)

I have to confess that the reason for building my HST model was to beat the commercial version !

I would like to think my version is unbeatable, but its a few years old now, and it was not perfect originally.
Personally I suspect that Chris's original body shell would be easier to replace than edit as there are several aspects to the front which could be improved. With a complex shape like that, its often easier to start again than change what you have.

Kings Cross - Leeds(Retford) for Mideast. You'll have to go in to RE and check overhead wires.

The irony in that made me burst out laughing .... in a pleasant way, that is.

I'll match your honesty by admitting I've started projects with the same idea but never finished them as I've more money than patience and couldn't be arsed :)
