re-installation anyone?
A couple of weeks back i had to carry out a full re-installation of MSTS. Because of this i put all of my locos into a temp folder - hoping to transfer them back over once complete. However when i wish to access i any of the locos on activity editor or the sim itself i just get the message - 'Failed to open shape file'.has anyone had this problem,if so any help would be most appreciated.

none of the stuff was stored whilst you made the back up was it. Train store only stores the shapes and just leaves the loco folder with the engfile inside. Try a system restore and restore the computer back to before you did the reinstallation or then again just go to C:\trainstorefolder the rest of the trains stuff should be in there
1. Train Store does NOT store any shapes.
2. 'Trying' system restore, as suggested is very questionable. It is not adviseable to just pick a date and restore. Unless you have kept meticulous diary records of what you have done, you might just end up with more undone than you bargained for. The sensible way to use system restore is to use it to create a restore point before you make a system change, test the change, and then use that restore point if necessary.
3. Too late now, but once again ....

yes sorry thought i had it the wrong way round yed the trainstore stores the eng file, which is needed to recognise the shapes to be able to play msts, yaaaay congratulations to moi, for stating the Obvious.
Still train store takes the files and when unistalling trainstore should in theory leave the trainstorefolder where the stored stuff is, well thats what bve does, personally ive never tried it and dont want to.
I know BVE does because i uninstalled it in favoure of MSTS and FS2004.
