I'm interested in helping, can't do much though until I get all that software required, but I can help in parts if you like i.e. activity making plus testing.

I've already tested one route that is being prepared for uploading onto UKTS, the Ashburton branch, by refman, aka Reg Furniss.

RobertM :D

P.S

What software do I need for making building's trians???
Cheers, Robert :)

I'm afraid I've just swapped the wides of Oxfordshire for the Mountains of North Wales. However, I could send any willing parties the work me and John did on the original Watlington project a while back... if I can find it!

Good luck

Robert

I use "Trainsim Modeler" to create my buildings, it is easy to use and can create some greate results. Visit the Abacus website and download the latest version.

E-mail me if you have any problems.

Help needed

Post by johnwallwork »

Hello BruceB

Nice to hear from you again after all this time :) I am looking to create the route in "finescale" this time round. The route will be created in its GWR bays and will include all stations to Watlington.

If you have any drawings etc. of buildings along the line please e-mail them.

Cheers

Middleton Press have issued a book which contains numerous pictures and station/goods yard track layouts of this line. It's entitled "Branch Lines To Princes Risborough" and also covers the branch line to Oxford and the still existent and used branch to Aylesbury. It may be of some reference use.

Hello John

Fantastic to see you back. You've been away far too long. How far have you got with the branch now?

Hi John

Nice to know your back into it. Might have a little free time after Xmas if you need some modelling doing.

Best of luck.

(Hi Martin. Have I missed Highworth?)

Thanks for that info greenknight

I do have a few books on the branch but new info is always welcome :) The branch has been very well documented over the years and I believe there is a a book available out there that is the ultimate reference on the line (but very pricey) anybody now what it is called?

Thanks
John

Hello again saddletank

It has been a while but I am slowly getting back into things again. The route is still at planning stage at the moment but I do have a lot of spare time these days so I will be working on the projects full time once I relearn my Trainsim skills.

Watch this space :)

It's called "A Country Branch Line" it's by Wild Swan (who else? :) ) and it's actually 2 volumes each priced around £30-00 I'm sorry to say but it is all you will ever need for reference material.
