I think it was an FW190 but that's not important. After her rebuild the loco carried a painted white kill marker on her cabside - the only steam engine to claim having brought down an enemy plane in action.

The only engine to claim an aircraft kill, but that has not stopped the nymr sticking sheep stickers on the side of its schools loco.
