1 gig memory upgrade from 512

Cant remember what board am afraid.

Hi
It looks a good spec.
With the size of those HDs , and with them being a pair, I would run them as a striped RAID.(Although I like to keep the OS on a smaller IDE HD just in case).
I would also considered installing all your larger routes as mini routes....you've got the space.
Cheers

Stripped RAID, Oxymoron as there is no Redundancy in RAID 0

A Mirror should give you faster read access, but slower write access. Since you generally need read access in a game the only advantage of a Stripping is that you get all the space as one logical drive but if you have a 300GB drive, really what do you need that for?

pretty good spec i run on an AMD Althon 3200+ XP Barton chip over clocked to 2.35 GHZ
an Ati Radeon 9600 256mb
512mb of ram
Msi KV6t Motherboard

on my comp you get decent frame rates so on yours you should have any probelm

but dream comp would be

An AMD Althon 64 Bit 4800 Duel core prosser
Duel Nvidia 7800 GTX
and 3 gigs of ram
Rising Storm -Name is in the credits :D - To Do scenario, where you go along at 50mph in a Pendo? Who would play it?

Hi Niall
I beg to differ...the reason for stripping is you half the read (and write)time...because you read both drives at the same time...this is why you eliminate msts stutter.
Mirror is mainly for server type installations where you want a permanent backup (mirror image) of the drive.
