Lyme Regis & Foxfield Again
Hi Chris (or anybody that has solved the problem.)
I am at my wits end. I have tied all sorts of remedies as posted by yourself and various others on the forum, to get the Lyme Regis working and have had no success.
But I will say the screenshots look absolutely beautiful. Well done to you and the others involved. I wish I could do things like that.
Every time I try something, the computer says no !
I have been so busy trying out all the suggestions so haven't managed to get back to you yet. So here goes.
I have loaded UKFS and x tracks (as i understand this contains build 30 etc) I have my routes stored on train store which normally helps a lot because my machine runs very slow. I do not know very much yet, but I'm learning all the time. But could we clear up a few basics?
Am I being too optimistic in having 33 routes stored on TStore? Will this many routes make TStore's operation unstable. What do all you other guys do when there are so many enjoyable routes available to use?
Perhaps I should reduce the number of routes by deleting some of the route files, not to mention quite a selection of rolling stock, as I seem to have all my favourite types of loco i.e. most of UKTS? But not too many diseasals, as we used to call them at the Bluebell Railway. But as I learn more I am getting to like them more.
I have tried downloading the activities I found on UKTS but still the computer won't play, either with T Store or MSTS on its own.
What do you think I should do?
Your guidance would be appreciated
Many Thanks Bob

No, and No.Am I being too optimistic in having 33 routes stored on TStore? Will this many routes make TStore's operation unstable.
There are no built-in fixed limits in Train Store's design. Any limits will be imposed by the amount of memory available, and (probably before that) lower performance of Train Store itself. I don't know practically where these limits might be. There are users with hundreds of routes, thousands of Consists, and over 10,000 stock items.

Limits of Train Store
Hi Tony
Thank you for your information.
Apart from this problem, I think Train Store is wonderful and it has allowed MSTS to work a lot quicker than it would have done on its own.
I am beginning to think that I will need to replace my computer.
Cheers Bob

Hi Bob
Before you think of buying a new computer are you sure you "Unstored Everything" with Trainstore before you installed your Route??
If you didn't you will definitely run into problems.
Also did you dis-able your Anti-Virus & Firewall programs before installing your Route as these can also effect your installation??
Kindest Regards
Mike

This one has me puzzled. Before I installed Lyme Regis I only had MidEast unstored. Lyme Regis installed OK first time. I then unstored Swanage and stored MidEast, did a simple explore activity and that was that, the route ran superbly.
Well done to all involved................':D'

Chris Iveson.

Lyme Regis & Foxfield Again
Hi Everyone
Thanks for all your suggestions, you can be sure I will be trying everything out. I really appreciate your help.
I'm keeping an open mind on things and have not yet decided what to do.
I have managed to get Lyme Regis up and running on a friend's computer and indeed it is wonderful. I look forward to Chris125's future presentations eagerly and have my fingers and as many other appendages crossed that are available that the next one will be the Isle of Wight.
Someone has offered me a good quality computer for free. I am not sure about it's operating speed, but we live in hope. That will be my next attempt as I have started from scratch in re-installing to many times.
I think my computer has been watching Little Britain.
Thanks again
Bob
