Random Reboot on View Change

Post by QBasicer »

Hello everybody!

I come to you with a problem where my computer will randomly reboot (well, not that randomly), when:
- Changing views in the Marias Pass (From any view going into cab)
- Random times going back into cab view
- Sometimes it will lock up when moving though large trains (like 50 cars)

Is there any fixes you guys know of?

I have usually found that random re-boots on any PC has eventually been traced to a failing power supply.

In your case, sudden changes of view means sudden extra activity of graphics card and hard-drives, power supply is marginal, and the PC reboots.

I'm not arguing (just explaining why I'm right).

It depends...before your pc reboots do you quickly see a blue screen?

Nope, it goes straight from the game to the BIOS screen (Window's quickest reboot, EVER!)

When it loads up it said "Windows has recovered from a serious error".

Definitely sounds like a power supply failure. One question, does this happen after you have been playing for a while, or as soon as you start playing with a cold pc?

Might also be an overheating problem. Check that all of the fans are running, especially the one on your graphics card.
