Welcome!
Have you applied all the patches up to (I think V.2.45).
I seem to recall downloading several activities for the current version.
Take another look in the library, using GWR as the key word for a search.

Paddington to Penzance
I have bought the Paddington to Penzance CD and then downloded all patches to get it to 2.45. As already said, this is a super route and because of that I do not want to mess mine up. It looks to me that the additional activities described by king125 are modern ones. When I tried a couple - they used the UTIL folder - I got error messages. So I put the signal back to danger really quickly. The way it is now gives me the Cornish Riviera and the two smaller but inovative activities. Also, I can explore the route using the Railcar or whatever. I have even - by going backwards - snuck up the Lauceston route and it looks very promising, although Yelverton needs some more work to become authenic in appearance. Incidentally, when I tried to go forward onto the down line from the LSWR branch, I needed to change the points - but then I got a red signal. Will that clear to green if I wait, or does it need a fix? Or what?
Needless to say, this is ALL feedback and NOT criticism. The route is absoutely brilliant and installs, so far, flawlessly for me. As a mere (retired) accountant and long ago BR booking clerk, I am only awestruck by what you clever folks can do on these simulators.
Thank you all, so much, for continuting wonderful experiences!

Solentary,
A couple of quick comments. First... thank you for your kind remarks and we are glad that you are enjoying the route.
Branch lines (like Yelverton) are last in line to get scenery upgrades - I'm still working on mainline stuff.
The switch you are having problems with (at Plympton) is a double slip switch and due to a quirk in MSTS, you have to use the down arrow (normally used when you are reversing) of the F8 display to properly change the switch. Try pressing the 'up' arrow and then the 'down' arrow. You should be rewarded by seeing the signals indicate what you want and even more gratifying is that you end up on the intended track.

Paddington to Penzance: Signals from the LSWR branch
I tried your suggestion for the Plymton signals - but using the bottom arrow did not work for me. It seemed to have no effect and permission to pass was denied. However, if one waits until passing the signal on the branch and THEN switching the top arrow to show a left- branching, the train goes on to the DOWN line. The problem is, however, that the signal on the MAIN down line also shows a clear. So the tappets in the signal box are not working properly. Could be dangerous. Any ideas?
By the way, I have converted the ENG files of the King that pulls the Cornish Riviera, using the Raildriver site files provided by Peter Cunningham for steam locos and the Traindriver seems to work a treat. I have also modified the GW Railcar to use Raildriver - this time with a new ENG file provided directly from Peter - bless his heart.
Solentary,
Another MSTS problem, I'm afraid. Whenever you get a line crossing another line, the AI signalman will set the signals correctly the first time through but after that, both lines get a green thus setting things up for a collision. The only way to handle this, as far as I know, is to adjust the timing of AI traffic so that there will not be a collision. If you want to see this in action, write an activity that positions you at Par station. The activity should feature traffic on the up line and traffic on the down line headed for Newquay. Watch the signals.

The main reason for this error is I presume you are using trainstore, and the unpacker cannot find the route as its stored in trainstore.solentary wrote:Hi King 125,
The first activity - which I reloaded to test - was PaddingtontoPenzance.apk
I got an error message from the Utils when attempting to load it: This package requires a route called GWR UID GWR
So you can either unstore the route, or just open trainstore and select a activity from the route, let msts run till the act loads up then you should be able to add the new activity then.
Terry.

This route looks really good, but how do I get hold of it? There doesn't seem to be any link to it anywhere.
Thanks
Andrew (47) and Matthew (9) - new to all this but having fun!!!
