KuJu Deltic Enquiry

Post by dtrc1969 »

Last weekend I purchased the MS Train Sim and the SVR add on pack. I have admired the screenshots on this site for ages but until now did not have a PC capable of running the software.

Anyway, I understand that in 2001 KuJu released a Deltic model on a cover-mounted disc.

I need that model! I don't want to breach any copyrights or cause any probelms and will gladly pay for an original copy.

Can anyone help me? Please! If you can help me with a copy of the KuJu Deltic model then please drop me an email.
dtrc1969@blueyonder.co.uk

Thanks for your time guys. :D
Cheers

Hi there mate,
While I don't actually have a copy of this particular model, there are several Deltics in the file library, including the very original one.

The Deltic category in the file library may be found here:
http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-direc ... y=1,cls=12

Hope this helps.

From memory, the Kuju Deltic was no better than the freeware ones.

Thanks guys! I have signed up to the download library and got a really superb 55015 and the Prototype Deltic. Top Drawer... Very pleased with that. Quality! :D

However, neither have got a cab view and it seems that all of these Deltic models in the library refer you to the KuJu Deltic for a cab view (as does the Blue Pullman model)? :-? :-?

If anyone can send me a patch for a nice Deltic cab view perhaps?

Any help gratefully received. Thanks.

Hi once again :P
Have a poke through this section of the file library:
http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-direc ... 21,cls=621
While there is no Deltic cab (There seems to have been one that has vanished), there are loads there, such as Warships & Westerns.
The cabview of a loco is controlled by a file with the extension.cvf in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Trains\Trainset\YOURLOCO\Cabview directory. Any new cabiew you download should have it's files cut and pasted into this directory, and the .cvf file that is included renamed to match the previous one.
((Note: It is entirely possible, and even desirable to set up a common.cab system, but this is much more complicated. Please post or have a search pf the forums.))

There were Deltic cabs, but the guy who did them has withdrawn from the scene and I understand he has taken them with him (as is obviously his absolute right)

I'm darned sure there USED to be a Deltic cabview on this site - I distinclty remember downloading it about 9 months ago, but I can't find any in the filelist now. The only hope I can offer is if you buy Mark Shipman's Deltic Collection CD from this site (CD Ordering section) as there is a Deltic cabview on it alomg with sounds and more Deltics than you can shake a stick at (and you get a free month's Premium membership to this site thrown in) - all for £4.50 - a bargain!

The Mid East CD will give you the basic Deltic cabview (not photoreal), so why not get Mark Shipman's Deltic CD and Mid East, then you'll have a shed load od Deltics and a nice long fast route to run them on!

P.S. I have the CD with the Kuju Deltic on stashed away somewhere, will never use it again, so it's yours for the asking if you care to PM me.

Not sure whether there was an original downloadable Kuju Deltic Cab anywhere.

It was then used by someone, forget the name, to produce other cabs for loco's by rearranging the controls and changing the cab windows.

A very good way of providing a variety of cabs without infringing copywrite when we needed them.

OK, they wern't as realistic as those around today but they were very responsive and free. Shame if they're not still available.

It's doubtful whether buying CD's for a cab alone or one loco will appeal to those on a limited budget.

In that respect, it's a shame files are withdrawn when CD's are released with the same loco or an updated version. I'm sure all the CD's contain something of value to all of us but the cost of buying each one must now be very susbtantial although worth every penny individually.

I remember signing up here soon after purchasing the CD, think it might have been from "Game", and thought "Cor! what a rip off" everything on the CD, which cost something in the region of twenty quid, was here for downloading and for free.
However, I repeat, the CD's there and free for the asking. If I remember correctly the Kuju Deltic wasn't a very good model. (Sorry Kuju)

The Deltic CD from the CD Ordering system has cabs and sounds, plus lots of deltics. The mideast CD has them too, and I believe that either Thames Mersey or North West England CD has the newer DELTIC cab view on it as well as the loco itself. Perhaps someone can confirm for me as I can't check at the moment. Those CD's are £4.50 each.

Bob Peach (author of all the deltic cab views) decided to move on to other things and withdrew his work at the same time.

As far as I am aware, other than obtaining it from someone privately, the CD's are now the only way to obtain these cab views, a great shame.
