S&C - prototypical steam-era trackbed texture
There are an enormous lot of trackbed (ballast) textures available for download from various sources. So I thought I'd like to get rid of the default ballast texture in the S&C route and use something better-looking. Does anyone have any idea of a ballast texture that would look right for the 1920s/1930s-era S&C?

Hallo!
on http://www.train-sim.com/ you can find a file called tracks.zip (about 27 MEG) with 50 different textures to choose from.
Having installed RouteRiter you've got a little program called TView.exe (in the RR folder). With this software you can have a look at the textures without opening every file with TGA-tool and getting stiff fingers from clicking.
Keep on steamin'!
