Can I adjust my seat?

Is there anyway I can change the cab view angle on the class 37 so I can see out of the front windows?

That is the correct driver eye view for the maximum height the real drivers chair can go. other than the hit the left arrow then the up arrow and you can stick your head out the side window, better view for locos with bonnets i think.

Thanks, but surely that means if I can't see out, then the real drivers can't either!!

Open the .cvf file and look for the 1st Position line.

It should look like this.....

Position ( -1.5 3.2 0 )

The middle number is the hight in metres from rail hight....Just change it to suit.

I have 3 different cab views that I use on my 37's. Each gives a slightly different perspective. Do you know which you are using?

Thanks for that, I had -0.9 3.21 6.5

I have reduced to 2.9 which has improved things a bit, but you can't go much lower as the whole cab drops towards the track - incidently, what do the other 2 sets of numbers alter?

I suppose only 6 foot 6" drivers can crew 37's!!!

Thanks again

Midget drivers....

The first number is the distance to the side and the last number is the distance from the loco centreline.

Hi
If you look at the line underneath the position...you'll find direction the first fiqure is the angle from dead level ahead.

Position ( -0.25 2.5 6.5 )
Direction ( 10 0 0 )

I'm not quite 6 foot but found driving most of the "nosed" diesels easy enough. I dont think most people realize that prior to the all round views on modern locos drivers relied more on their knowledge of the road than to actually see every inch of track. I recall that on dark gloomy nights out in "the sticks" you could see nothing at all except the tiny glimmer fom a semaphore spectacle here and there. Then the brightness of a box that was quickly swallowed up again. I love being able to switch on a great high beam light to see whats going on when running TS at night but the reality was, even high speed trains were essentially "blind" and depended on highly skilled drivers reacting to everything that man and nature threw at them. So enjoy what you have, it's still better than the real thing.

Spooky!!

Back to my viewing position, could I move myself slightly to the left, thus enabling me to see more out of the curving window?

I'm sorry to be a pain, but I'm actually trying to get a better understanding of what these changes I make in the cfv file can achieve

Hi
Increase the first fiqure to -1.1........the bigger the minus number the further left you'll be.
ie -1.35 puts you outside the cab althoughther

Position ( -0.85 3.1 6.5 )
