shape failed to load error. Brighton-Portsmouth

Post by stevee625 »

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what this error message could be down to,.
Its on the activity no8 of the brighton-portsmouth route.
shape failed to load EB_TF_UK_4_ASPECTS.S. I just installed trainstore, and am using the easy trainstore interface. I only recently installed this route, so i've never done this activity before, and don't know if its to do with trainstore or not.
Thanx.
Ste.

Train Sores does nothing with .s files so it is not caused by Train Store.

Exactly what error message are you getting and when? If it is when MSTS is loading, try turning your graphics settings down in MSTS.

Hi,
I get this message when i'm just pulling into worthing station. I've run through this station before, and it did crash but without the error message before i installed trainstore.
shape failed to load EB_TF_UK_4_ASPECTS.S. I what i'm getting now.

I looked in the shapes folder of the route, brighton portsmouth, and the file is there. Trainstore does look like an excellent program though i must add.

Sounds to me like it's a graphics-intense area which is overwhelming your system. Try lowering the two train sliders on the options screen by one notch - Worked for me on a couple of American routes where I had a similar problem. Alternatively you could save the activity just before the point where it crashes. When you restart it should be ok.

Hope this helps. :D

Regards, Nick.

From memory - Its a long time now since I wrote these activities - as you arrive at Worthing another up services is just about to arrive, with yet another close behind. Nick is almost certainly correct when he says this is probably too much for your system to handle. Try turning all settings down one notch which should cure the problem. :)
