I have just been looking at a site of japanese bullet trains. Some of the trains since 1964 have been amazing. I would like to know if anyone has thought about about designing some of these trains or does anyone know any web sites I can download these trains from. I would love to see them on some of the routes I have.Thankyou for you time in answering these questions.

Would this be http://www.h2.dion.ne.jp/~dajf/byunbyun/index.htm by any chance? I was looking for photos of high-speed trains for a school project and I came across this site - it is quite amazing how many different types they have.

It's quite weird because some of the preserved trains look virtually new, though a few of them look a bit too 'plastic' for my liking. Some look kind of like ducks bills (E4 and 700 series)...

I really like the look of the 500 series though.

(Sorry, I don't know that answers to your qs though  )

Shinkansen Types

OPnly the Series 500 has been produced for MSTS and can be found on http://www.train-sim.com. Other than that the Hikari Railstar was also made which looks similar to the Series 700. Although this was a very early model for MSTS and does not look great compared to todays standards. This can also be found on http://www.train-sim.com

I heard Chris Longhurst(the person who made the NS trains) was doing Shinkansens as well.

Seems strange that despite the popularity of train sims in Japan, they didn't make much for MSTS. I guess they were more into BVE, Densha de Go etc.

Yep, a Series 0 shinkansen - it's just taken a bit of a back seat to routebuilding at the moment, and although I don't like setting definate release dates, it may appear in the summer.

Is it hard to obtain plans of the trains?
