Route Riter V6 Question ? = NWE V2

Hi Everyone

I was wondering is it possible in the latest version of Route Riter to move a Route away from the Dreaded White Out ?

The Route I want to move is the NWE V2, as the Dreaded White Out happens straight after leaving Blackpool North heading towards Preston.

Has anybody already successfully achieved this ?
If so what figures did you enter in Route Riter ?
I find this to be a very good Route and one of my favourites !

Its a pity peoples hard efforts are flawed by so many Annoying Bugs in MSTS.

Any help with this will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Gary....................... :D

PS: Any extensions planned to this Route Terry ? eg: Preston to Burnley
Bolton to Blackburn

And Blackburn to Hellifield. Blackburn to Chorley, Copy Pit and Colne to Skipton too.

Yep, It works. :P
The good thing is that activities already installed will continue to work also.
As regards NWE V3, well most of the logical extentions seem to be under construction elsewhere as stand alone routes, so there seems little point in duplicating effort. :o
I'll see what's materialised though, once I've finished Metrolink, and reassess the situation then.

Is it possible for you to post "instructions" on how this can be done (or would an upload be better)?

Some discussion here, David:-

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?t=38703

However, basic instructions on how to move NWE 8 tiles to the east (which is sufficient to get rid of all the white-outs) as follows:-

1) Confirm NWE 2 route in Route-Riter V6
2) Click on 'TSUtils' tab and select 'Move a Route to new Lat/Long'
3) In box enter 8 0 (remember to include the space)
4) 'OK' and let RR do it's stuff.

The Key thing to remember is that any activities already installed before you make 'The Jump' will work.
Any activities writted for the "original" NWE will NOT work if they are installed after the change.

IF NWE V3 ever materialises (and I mean IF :o ), then it would be my intention to release in this format i.e. moved 8 tiles to the E

Cheers,
Terry

Thanks. Unfortunately that stops me wanting to do it.

More thoughts on this.

From what you say it would appear that activity files that are already installed are modified in the "Jump". I guess that this will be the path files. I wounder if TsUtils can be "coaxed" to make a similar change to any activities installed to the route later.

Hi Dave,

You could keep an 'unmoved' version of the route as well, say as a mini-route, then if you got some later activities you could move the route again along with the new activities and they would be changed as well.

A couple of other comments on 'Move'

a) The Move command in the latest version of RR/TsUtils will now move by any number of squares in any direction, you are no longer restricted to moving by blocks of 8

b) If the route does not pass the TsUtils 'Route Integrity check' then you are out of luck, moving it will not work correctly.

Mike, I knew if any "coaxing" could be done you would let is know!

How about adapting you method to a second and mini version of the route and the new activities are installed there, changed, and then copied over to the full route. Well perhaps you would need two mini routes to make sure you always had one unchanged one.
