Yorkshire Coast Railway CD
Just installed this new CD
Even with Trainstore, this route seems to take a long time to install and the screen colours look like a B & Q lorry carrying paint has crashed.
I presume this has something to do with the install of the Global folder although my other routes seem ok
Can anyone help?

Is it OK now? It is a large route (though I took out unused tiles so it's smaller than the version I have) so it may take a long time to set up the first time you run it .gwladok5 wrote:Just installed this new CD

You might be able to answer this question; I've been getting little speckly bits "dancing" in various parts of MSTS when I run it - on the roof of locos & carriages and on the screen shots before launching the route - any ideas?
I have Flight Simulator on the same hard drive with no problems so I think it can't be my video card.

Re: Yorkshire Coast Railway CD
I installed tonight from CD, but when I try any of the activities (or explore mode) the setup gets as far as 'Establishing World Space and Content' then just sits there... I left it for 15 mins and still no response - the only way out via CTRL ALT DEL.JohnKendrick wrote:

Any ideas? I would have expected the initial terrain buffers to take a long time etc but it just zooms through all this until it seems to hang at the above point.
I have the UKFS Track Manager installed and I use Train Store.
I suspect I will need to do a clean install of MSTS, but before I do that, is there anything I can try to avoid this more drastic approach?
Cheers

How frustrating. It's hard to know without knowing what you have installed, MSTS wise. Number of routes, consists, stock and so on.
Are we talking of installing off the YCR CD or the download version?

You shouldn't have to do that.
Did you unstore.... before installing the new route.
Have you got Route Riter....does it give any faults.
Dont know what spec your PC is....perhaps a reboot would help?
CTRL ALT DEL....brings up the task manager?...what does it report?
Train.exe...unresponding?
Sorry more questions...than answers.
Cheers

Another thought,
The CD version ought to have everything needed to get it running (though the alternative tunnel shapes may be preferrable);
but if the download version, it needs more than UKFS, so make sure you've read all the requirements from the readme and then obtained and installed the rest. There's quite a few items required... magnetic platforms, new roads, tsection, and make sure you have a recent enough version of these.
If you haven't got the CD, you may find it easier to get that and let it do the install for you.
