Hi
Has enybody experienced this problem with the downloaded version patched to latest version of Thames Mersy.
On load up certain consists seem to cause the sim to crash when progress bar reaches under Liverpool.
Have tried the consists in other routes no problems so that dispells that they are the problem.
Offending Stock includeds Class 90's 87's DVT's all with proper cabs and sounds. Its a shame because the route is Tip Top and very lifelike.
Any help or ideas please post here as once it crashes it takes forever to reload the sim.
Thanks in advance.

Gary, by process of elimination, can you run any of the offending activities with a different consist? Or simply explore route using the same path and consist?

Gary,
What spec PC do you have? Could be a particular consist is just pushing the computer over the limit in terms of resources. Where is the problem explore starting from?

Gary,
The spec isn't the problem, thats better than what I have got. OK what stock are you using - CD or downloaded. In either case could you email me the consist file(s) for those that are causing the problem and I will have a look at it.

I tried putting the route on yesterday from download, I started with version and and then 2 and it worked fine. Putting the version 3 upgrade on started the issue. The progressbar would get to "Setting Up Simulator" and sit there for about 30 seconds then fail with a windows standard "Microsoft Train Sim" failure dialog box.
I progressed to version 4 and am still getting the same problem, I can go in under explore more without any problems but any of the standard activities seem to be cause the problem.
My spec is:
Windows XP Home SP2
1 Gig Ram
P4 3.6gig
PCI Express GeForece 6600
1x80gig (system)
1x250gig (got game on this drive)
Any help would be appreicated as it seems to be a very very good route lay out.
Regards
Mike

I am also experiencing the same problem. Ver 3.2 from CD works fine.Downloaded all updates for ver 4. TS loads ok but no matter what activity I load even explore route and it crashes with the I want to talk to Daddy message. I have tried to start in different locations heading to different places and using a variety of consists but the result is still the same. The only thing I have noticed is that when I run the install 4 batch file to start with it does not find a lot of the files. I have all 6 base routes loaded and ver 3.2 runs ok when loaded prior to upgrading to ver 4. Anyone any ideas please.

Bigbenbear may have a point, I did notice some text being displayed when loading one of the files. The problem is as quick as the text is displayed, the dialog box closes.
Mine sometimes locks up just as you start driving the train. (The Crew to Liverpool activity, I think it's this one.
Good route though I must say.

Hi
Its been mentioned before....all files that are needed are copied....and the route checks out in RR fine.

Are these activities that came with the CD?
There is a patch file (Bob Latimer)....which replaces all paths...I should try that.
After this I would suggest that PC specs may be at fault here....try turning settings down....or maybe that particular activity and stock is just a bit too much.
I can't test that particular activity...(have'nt got it loaded)...but I retested the 5 I did for TM CD...and they run OK on my PC.
Cheers
Jon
PS There was one section of track missing sth of Alderly Edge...but it doesnt stop the game running.

Hi Jon,
I am a bit confused , how can you be sure that all files are coppied , it definatley reports FILE NOT FOUND several times.

Hi Jason
If you've got RR....it will give it a clean bill of health.
The bat file actually deletes alot of older files....and I'm not sure its not just the messages confirming the file has been deleted.
Cheers
