The Northern Belle is owned by VSOE and uses Mk2 e-f coaches with a Mk 3 ex sleeper support/generator coach if I recall. They bought some of the Regency Rail fleet, plus other ex BR charter examples. They are similar to the Riviera Trains fleet but the interiors are apparently fitted out to match the "Pullman" style of the VSOE (never been on it so I wouldn't know).

What, orange crinkly tin filled with diy tat with poorly scrawled reduced price stickers on them and lumbering pre-pubescent oiks in orange bibs carrying sawn-off planks of wood around? Is coach one the Gardening section, coach two the lighting section, three the kitchens and bathrooms and so on until coach 8, returns and bits they can't get rid of?

What on Earth are VSOE on then? Or have I missed the plot?

What are the bonus version of the Mk2 Manchester Pullmans that come with the BATS EH Vol1 CD? Are they Northern Belle or Royal Scotsman?

Neither. They are "The Statesman" which went into private use for a while after they were withdrawn. They were bought by a company called MER who ran them as "The Statesman" for a few years. Some were later sold to the West Coast company at Carnforth, but what's happened to them since is a mystery as the Bumper book of the Mk2 doesn't say! But the train is completely different to the Royal Scotsman which largely used rebuilt Metro Cammell East Coast Pullmans and vintage carriages, but which I think now uses rebuilt Mk3 sleepers.

Thanks for the info I would like the royal scotsman coaches for msts and if possible a royal scotsman EWS class 37 which pulls the coaches.

Here's a little something I've had lurking on the hard drive for a while.

Nowhere near finished but one day I might get time to finish the whole set.
