Spoorsim
I downloaded the route fine. It had an automatic run so I double clicked on that but it only loaded it to my 'C' as a separate proramme. I tried again this time putting in that I wanted it to go to Train simulator expecting it to go into its separate folders of route trainset etc. It didn't. When I double click on the Spoorsim symbol I get a full page wonderful graphics of the inside of an engine. No pointer from my mouse. My mouse only moves the picture about. None of the normal letters,a,d,w etc respond. Another train passes by...and so on. Anyone else been more successful or shall I just give it up as a bad job and delete it.

I did exactly the same as the original poster, and sat there for a while wondering what was going on, until I thought to read the instructions
But it's well worth it once you get the sim running, I just hit Tab and let the AI driver do his stuff, (which is what I wanted out of MSTS in the first place).
What paticularly impressed me was,
1) Quality of the scenery - magnificent.
2) Exhaust steam seems linked to piston rod movement
3) Sounds are excellent, not too overpowering, not too toy-like (Trainz scores badly here)
4) Physics _seems_ better than MSTS
5) Track texture was far better on my Radeon card than the MSTS, with far less moire
6) Distant detail can be shown as that, not as a general blur.
7) Ability to switch trains - good one, learned some lessons from Trainz.
What did I miss the most? Not being able to sit in the coaches and look out through the windows.
I hope the developer can be encouraged to proceed. I get the feeling that the product will include a working turntable
