Wupper Express, what a fabulous route, but it's got me confused, which is not a difficult thing to do.
The file library lists Wupper Express 7 parts 1 to 4 and there is a file 'tree fix',and all of these files are dated 17th June 2004.
The copy that I have installed is Wupper Express 7 and was sent to me by a friend in March 2004.Do I download parts 1 to 4 and the tree fix and add them to my current installation,or do I delete my current installation before installing parts 1 to4 and the tree fix.

I second Jon's recommendation - see
http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?t=37010 for an earlier discussion. v8 goes on to Cologne and is generally fantastic.

Patch for Wupper8

Thanks for the information.I've downloaded and installed Wupper8 and can't wait to start exploring,it's working fine. One problem though,I also downloaded a patch WE8FIX1 and I can't work out how to install it.I translated the readme with Google but still can't make much sense of it apart from it fixing a sound at departure and I think the Tab permission to pass red signal, but I've no idea how to install it.
The patch contains the following folders Routes.....Wupper Express8....Sound.......EXTRA....and a file ingame sms.......The folder EXTRA also contains a file ingame sms.
Another folder Trains....Trainset....g15 gueter...g15weinwagen.sd is only for if you've installed the stock from what I can make out.
Hope you can help,I'd like to get everything right.

The patch has two files:
ingame.sms - fixes the guard's whistle you get when the train is ready to depart (I think). Put this in the Route's SOUND folder.
g15_weinwagen.sd - a small fix for the Weinwagen wagon which is included in the Graphics15 rolling stock pack 9which you should definitely get if you haven't already).
That's all there is to it - have fun exploring!

Thanks for your help Michael.I now have everthing installed except the activities.I was going to install them but I see from the readme that I'll need to install more stock, about 10 more downloads before installing the activities.Judging by the route,it will be well worth it ,it's a fantistic route, when I first bought MSTS I never imagined it could ever be as good as this.
I f you want a really top loco, great sound and performance to run on this route, theres a czech trainset ZSSK460 which is one of my favourites.I got it for Vysocina but tend to use it everywhere when I'm in explore mode.
If you know of any other routes as good as Wupper Express 8,please let me know, even of any half as good.

Terry,
The stock you need is listed in the Readme for the activities, and available from about four different german sites, but the ReadMe tells you exactly what to look for. Print it out, and have the page beside you when you visit the sites. Download as necessary, then install the WE8FIX patches according to the instructions. A couple of the locos have included light consists which you may need to copy into the consisit folder, and I found a couple of missing sound file errors, but nothing serious and probably my fault.
A wonderful route - I downloaded and installed it yesterday, and ended up playing till past midnight - it even has the track (I didn't see a train) of the Wuppertal SchwBebahn monorail visible from the mainline as you go around Wuppertal.

Also, for extra activities go to www1.webdottrainsim.com/msts580.htm for a host additional interest with a wider variety of trains. Unfortunately you will have quite a few further downloads but what is needed is fairly well explained in the activity descriptions. Worth flogging away at though.
Its odd that this route has not been uploaded onto EUTrainsim. Its a well made route.

I dont think the route author was invited?.
However most route authors are more than happy to see their creations on more than one site....although some do not like UKTS.
I personally have instigated the uploading of 2 routes, which I particularly admired, and felt would be enjoyed by the members, who only download from this site.

I,ve printed out the readme regarding the additional stock required before installing the activities and it is straightforward except for one thing. In the list, the 6th line down is bracketed and say's.....look for downloads E10/E10.3/DB 110 398-5 VERKEHRSROT EP. 5. I can't understand what this means. Are these another 3 downloads in addition to the rest of the list?

Hallo!
No, it's only the link to one special loco. To find the correct engine just go to Thomas Pilders website
http://www.thopil.de/ On top of the site you'll find a special link "Hier geht's zum Download der 110 für das WupperExpress-8-Aufgabenpaket!" Among the various class 110 locos the engine with the red notice "Dies ist die Lok für das WupperExpress-8-Aufgabenpaket!" is the right one.
Keep on steamin'!

...and while we're on the subject of class 110s, this link:
http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/de/ele ... 8_0002.jpg
will take you to a nice shot of the loco in question.
NB 'Verkehrsrot' is the livery worn by this (and lots of other) DB locos.

Some very nice replacement cabs on thetrain.de for most of the WE8 locos, too - much better than the Acela.

Hi Dietmar,
I've downloaded everything on the list and installed it.I'm very much feeling my way with installations and with all the readme files in German I had to do a lot of guessing so I thought it was a miracle when I fired up MSTS and found that the stock and activities were actually there. I've done two of the activities and think it's a fantastic route.
I have got one problem that I'm hoping you can help with. When I unstore from trainstore and again when loading in MSTS I get an error message Error reading train database file.....File Trains\Trainset\DB218-904\DB218-904.eng. I've checked and I don't have a DB218-904 folder in trainset. This model is not one of the downloads that was on the list so I did'nt really expect to find it.I'm hoping you can help with this problem,I hate error messages and sooner or later I'm going to end up running an activity that this will cause problems with.In the meantime,I have been clicking the Yes button to continue when the error appears.
