Grantham to Doncaster Route
I saw this on eBay and thought it was interesting. Does anyone know any more about it?

I've written to this person and to ask if they have permission to use the said items. Every time I see any of these things on ebay I fire off a series of emails asking awkward questions (I have 4 ebay "accounts"), legaality issues etc
To be fair, to date 4/5 people have removed items once challanged. If a large number of people were doing this, say 40-50, I can't help but think the deluge would "encourage" more to follow suite.

The Route in question is mine. I did not realise it would cause so much debate. I started the route around the same time as Tim started his excellent MidEast route, in fact I supplied some photos to Tim to help him with his route. The route is totally my own work, but to answer the question as to whether I have got permission to use every building or track texture, then the answer is no. I totally support the view that you should not sell other peoples routes, but having put in 1000s of hours work to create this route, I do not believe I have done anything wrong. To answer some of the questions already asked, I know other routes do have high detail and scenery, but I have made sure that even outside the cab you cannot see where the scenery ends. The reason it is not electrified is because I think it would spoil the look and I much prefer using diesels and hsts for freight and passenger. I'm sure there will be further comments and I am quite willing to answer any further questions. Kevin.

OK guys you win. I will remove the route from the auction. If I was in it for the money then I would be selling 100 copies not 1. I don't see how uploading it changes the fact that I have been criticised for not asking permission to use certain buildings and textures. No one seems remotely interested in the route itself anyway. This is a shame as I am proud of it and the couple of friends who have driven it reckon it's as good as anything else around.

Its not a point of whose won its a the fact that your selling a route containing other peoples FREEWARE models that you haven't even asked permission to use, I for one would be very angry to find my work being sold by individuals on eBay and for them to make money from it.
Why should I or others contributors bother uploading models that have taken a lot of time and effort to produce for herberts like yourself to sell on eBay?????

I'm definately interested in the route, and I think a lot more will be if you share it with the public rather than sell just the one in the internet. It also would have been nice to ask permissionsNo one seems remotely interested in the route itself anyway.

I really must be missing the point. If you have been a member of UKTS from DEC 2001, why advertise it on Ebay when you obviuosly know of UKTS? Even though its based around some of the Mid East route, possibly some duplication of it, surely you would relise that the members of this site would have been interested?rushdenx1 wrote:OK guys you win. And by some of the comments are still interested??
Can you not get permission to use the relevant buildings etc?
