'Uncle Reds' Class 66 - Sounds

Hi all,

I am having problems with these sounds, absolutley nothing, a dead silence.
All sms files and sms file entries in the eng file seem to be correct, and all files are present, yet they still do not work!
Is anyone else having similar problems or is it just me (as usual :( )

Cheers

Hi
I didnt mean the Volume..I meant the actual sound quality settings in the game selection screen.

Having had a run around i have to say.....

BLOODY HELL THESE ARE AMAZING!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Can i make a suggestion that people download the loco just for the sounds, or at least get the EWS one when it comes along becasue they really are superb, along with cabview, also fantastic! Also a lot cheaper than railwaves which will set you back a fiver, these are free!!

All 9 of my 66's have now been aliased to these and they really change the driving experiance. I have to say a huge well done to the creator of these sounds (sorry don't know ur name), and i can't wait for a the new EWS 66 when it arrives :D :D :D

One thing i changed was the horn though, which is now a more british two-tone rather than the higher european sound. But other than that, amazing stuff!

HERE HERE!!

As I have to listen to these locos ticking over, starting up and running almost every day at work I know what they sound like and the sounds on Uncle Red's loco are amazing.

I would also recomend downloading the loco for the sounds alone too!!

Do the sounds also work for helper and AI locos? I looked briefly at the sms files and didn't see any sign of a Scalability Group 0, but I haven't set up any traffic to check.

They do sound great for the player loco though.

Hi Jeff
I suspect your correct...but I haven't tried it either.
There arn't any SL3 sounds either....(hence the need for MSTS high sounds quality required).
As a model its very detailed and more of a player loco than a AI or helper.
I'm afraid I dont know enough about the sounds to add proper AI sounds....could add the generic SL0 sounds...but I hate them.
Cheers

the one thing that would make the sounds better is the warning claxon before they fire up :)

Still great though :D

WOW !! Yes, one awesome download! The model itself, the sounds, the cabview; all superb. Even the reverser had a satisfying click instead of the default Dash 9-style wheezing moaning clunk.

Thanks, fhornuk: nice to know that these sounds are realistic. Do you or anyone else know if the cabview is realistic for a UK class 66?

Congrats to "Uncle Red" on a brilliant piece of work.

Cabview looks different somehow, can't put my finger on it... looks "deeper" somehow than the UK ones :-? Still 100% better than the D9 one though!!

Here here, who cares if its realistic for the Uk, i would never have known the difference! I wonder if 'unlce red' will be doing any more new sounds, like a Class 57 maybe, hint hint :D
