Is there any way we all could try and get the Scottish press to help out here?

Like the idea of a memorial bench somewhere as well though

If we're honest, a memorial bench on the station is a target we're more likely to achieve.

However there's no harm in asking GNER is there? (Assuming Kerr approves of the idea, of course!)

How about adding 50p or £1 onto the cost of Scottish Central CD when it comes out, and putting that into the fund?

HST FOR TAMARA

Post by railwaylad33 »

I was sad to here about the death of kerrs daughter.

I work for Network Rail and contacted one of my work mates who is one of GNERs senior managers about this story, and copied the link to this forum.

He has passed this onto their corporate affairs department.

I wish to express my condolences to kerr and his family.

first of all can i also offer my heart felt condolence on this loss, as has been said many times already, words hardly seem to be enough. As a father of five this is a very touching subject.

i haven't been a member of UKTRAINSIM very long but would like to help in any way i can. (by the way you can count on my tenner any time)

with regards to the naming of the class 43, although i cannot influence GNER (being a driver for EWS), how about contacting one if not all of the railway magazines. The RAILNEWS would be an obvious starting point, and i have been in contact with Pip Dunn of RAIL magazine before.

Obviously i will await permision before contacting anyone, but i do feel this will help to raise the profile, and am more than willing to help in any way i can.

once again, my condolences

Kerr, as someone who has also lost someone in similar curcumstances may I offer my warmest sympathies to you at this time. The community as a whole is, I have no doubt, thinking of you at this very difficult time.

Champy, I think that this is a wonderful idea. I do think that if GNER were willing to do this then they would pay for the name (after all its only a vynal sticker) but I would also be willing to contribute to the cause, be it for a plaque or a bench at Inverkeithing or one of the larger stations (Glasgow Central or Edinburgh).
