Large Brighton Belle file
Sorry everybody. I was very tired at uploading time and forgot to recompress the s files in the newly uploaded Brighton Bel 5BEL 2051 - 2053 which has made this download very large. I have fixed the problem, but cant upload till Monday as NeutronIC is not here to approve the files till then. So hopefully it will be some day soon next week, and the size difference is huge so will be worth waiting for!
Cheers,
Mike

Cheers in hopeing......
Read the Readme........they're quite easy to install.....just need the 2Bil cab from http://www.kimsim.co.uk and the default acela sounds.
Jon
I considered making it a self installing file, but then I know what some people are like. They would download, install and try to run without reading the readme and crash their msts
So a long winded install it shall be for fun and hassle free safety's sake.
I have to compress the 's' files to make each zip file much smaller. For people with high speed broadband a five megabyte file takes only seconds to download, but there are many people that have a 56k modem and downloads of 5 megabytes can take hours and it cost them. Thats why I have to make the download files as small as I can. (Plus it does help in the trainsim folder also).
Cheers,
Mike.

Just to let you know I'm on 56k and each file only took me about 15-20 minutes to download, so it's probably down to where you live and the modem speeds you get. Worth the effort though.
They are very very nice models, with good physics characteristics. I'm using my own sound set which helps, though!
I hope you can be pursuaded to do a 6-PUL next!

Hi
2052 includes the fantastic passenger view.......really Pullman pampered.
However having paid my 6 shillings Pullman excess....I deceided that I didn't want to travel backwards so I made the following ammendments to "Vera"...
)
Inside (
PassengerCabinFile ( PassengerCam.s )
PassengerCabinHeadPos ( 0.75 2.3 -5.0 )
RotationLimit ( 20 90 0 )
StartDirection ( 0 10 0 )
Sound ( "..\\..\\acela\\sound\\acelapas.sms" )
)
Sound ( "genpasswagmodern.sms" )

The differences between the sets are the unit numbers and coach names and numbers. Car Audrey in unit 2052 also has a passengercam. The Brighton Belle ran as a 10 car train 99% of the time, though there were occasions that it ran as a 5 car train. On its final farewell tour it ran as a 15 car train as can be see in Southern eGroups photos. There is nothing to stop you running it as a 5 car train, but the first activity with it requires all 3 units, so you'd be out of luck enjoying Jimmyladds (Jim Gould) terrific 11 am BEL Victoria Bound and getting a glimpse of the SR in the sixties.Hmmm... Why is it you need to download all 3 files? Can't we just download one since all I see is that they have different numbers...?

I assume you want the coaches left in their pullman livery, with only roofboards removed so you can run them as, for example, pullman cars in the British VSOE. I see no problems doing that. I will also be making the 6PUL coach Naomi. Do you want only the first class or both first and third?
The motor brake thirds were all removed from service I believe. Some were scrapped and others turned into restuarants etc. That is so sad!

I am in the process of reskinning the Brighton Belle in B/G. This will be a slightly different model also as the trains had no roofboards, they had horns on the cab roof and stepboards under the luggage doors.Any chance of making the centre coaches available without the roofboards?
This would let us use them as hauled stock in their preserved days.

Sounds teriffic.......these old EMUs have a presence that the newer ones cannot match...IMO.
A quick question [lease...are you going to do the BR blue/grey skin...or is it worth one of us repainters having a go?
And thanks once again for an absolutely superb model
Cheers

I just noticed this photo among my pictures:

This is an interesting alternative with no roofboards. Maybe somebody can do it for us if I supply the coaches
