The large numbers of readers of this tread made me curious to check what this route is all about and looking at this post I can not see their thumbnails links. Their code however is there, replying with "Quote", but my IExplorer-6 does not show me them as you can see below.trains2 wrote:Anyway, enjoy! (click for larger image)
Checked it's settings and can not see an option for allowing them to be used ?
Thanks for any advice, O t t o.

Yeah I've taken some of the later shots down, I think the shots on the first page are in my atmoic album, as it's a dead project no need to have them really.thomascairns wrote:That post was in late 2004 so I'm not surprised thumbs are missing.
Basically it's London - Southampton fully unscenerised to put it simply!

Hi Neil
Apologies if I was a bit grumpy yesterday - domestic probs (half my kitchen ceiling caved in!)
Re-naming a stock item can cause a number of problems so I wouldn't advise this unless you really know what you're doing. I think the old CT42 transporter was removed from the file library some time ago which explains why you couldn't find it. The best and simplest solution is to download another transporter. Then, if you've not already domne so, download Activity Analyser and use it to swap your new transporter for the missing one. Route Riter or Conbuilder can also do this for you but are far more complex programs. I have all three but use AA to make such swaps as it's quick and easy - you'll find it a very useful tool if you download a lot of activities and wish to use different stock of substitute unavailable items.
You can read about AA here http://www.uktrainsim.com/index2.php?fo ... ctanreview and there's a link to the site for downloading. I believe there's a small registration fee but it's well worth it. Come back if you get stuck.
Cheers

right then, i have downloaded, am in process of registering.
the specific issue is that the activity states it requires the car transporter that has now gone. i have downloaded a different wagon but am now stuck and help files aren't providing much help. would you be so kind as to provide a quick how to?
thanks

Registering shouldn't take long, I think I received the key within a couple of hours. Until you register though, you can only use AA on your first thee installed routes.
If London - Southampton is one of them, you will see the route shown in the top window when you fire up AA (if not, you'll need to wait until you register AA, after that it will work with all your routes).
So - left click on the route in the top window, after which a list of your installed activities for the route will come up in the bottom window. Left click on the one you're having trouble with and select "Detailed Analysis" from the tabs at the foot of the main AA screen. AA will then analyse the activity and show a detailed list of alll the stock items used in a separate window - locos in the top screen, wagons & coaches in the bottom one. This process will take a few minutes. Any missing items will be highlighted in red, scroll down the lists until you find your missing item (in this case the CT42 transporter). Click on the missing item and then select "Replace" from the tabs at the bottom. This will bring up a list of all the stock items installed on your system - simply select the replacement transporter you downloaded earlier and click on "Apply". Do this for all missing items and your activity should now run.
A word of warning - only replace items on a like-for like basis. In other words, if you have a brake van missing, replace it with another brake van, not a different type of wagon altogether. Same goes for locos - for eample if you were to replace a missing Class 25 diesel with a class 47, it will behave completely differently and may screw the act up, wheras replacing it with another class 25 should not cause problems.
I think that just about covers everything - best of luck!
Cheers
