CD Routes I bought freezed at beginning of activity
I bought 2 cd routes (Northern Rail Routes V5.1 and Northwest England 2.0) but on both cases either before or when the briefing window should come down it freezes the computer. (On the Northwest England 2.0 a couple does work though). I have to do a total reboot from plug as everything else not work. Can anyone help me?. All other routes work fine.

Do you remember what order you installed the routes ?
You probably need to download and install this as I expect you installed an older route (and its overwritten the newest version of this file which is very important)

I put on northern rail routes last week and it completely messed up my trainsim. I had to do a complete re install. It also messed up the files in trainstore, i.e. - a lot of the .eng and .wag files that were stored stayed that way. Also northern rail routes changed a least one of the consists in one of the mideast activities, as I had a NWT HST with that horrible blue roof sitting at king's cross instead of a nice BR blue grey HST. Having looked back at posts from the past I noted other people had problems with this route. Wish I had read that before loading it !!

Just a thought - In Train Store "Unstore Everything", install the route, then Store Everything. Then open only the route you want to use. Probaly completely unnecessary, but it works for me!

Trainstore http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... ileid=5940 is a utility that allows you to put unused routes and stock into "storage" thus allowing MSTS to run more efficiently and getting around some of the issues that arise when large numbers of paths & services are active.

hi, have you checked the number of consist you have? this might seem strange but if you have just intalled a new route and it came with consists on the CD you may have too many consists as this can cause the simulator to freeze at the start. It does not always affect all routes or traction, but if you have more than 900 consists (although 700 affects the Thames-Mersey Route on my machine) this can cause this problem, as it did with me some time ago.
I have split my consists into 2 files to get round this, although it means renaming the 2 files every time I wish to change between it does mean I can have around 1300 consists without any freezes.
hope this helps
