Greg wrote about the situation in Exeter St David's where GWR trains to London faced one way and SR trains to the same city faced the other way.
The situation was duplicated at Plymouth North Rd where SR trains, often starting from Friary station, faced west as they set off for London by the
long loop round the north of Dartmoor to get to Exeter

Looking forward to receiving this. However, only 3 activities included on the CD? There's endless scope for activities! All the same, still looking forward to driving it.

Im hoping to get this route to and will almost certainly produce activities for it. With only 3 being supplied there is significant opportunity to "add value" to the route by writing some good activities, one of my aims from activity writing. :)

I look forward to having a look at it.

KISS is the answer in this case as I know the route authors wanted it to be. The GWR route is an ongoing event, scenery, activities etc etc. Remember 1383 route miles and all the hard work that Derick Joy and Dave Pascoe have put into it for the past 3 years. I sure any activities offered for upload/download will be most welcome by the team.

One plea I would make to help Dave Pascoe, although this weekend he is taking delivery of his "new" old Alvis tuned to sound like a Spitfire of Douglas Bader's ilk, is for anyone with photos etc of buildings, scenery etc who would like them included in updates for GWR V2 to pm him and he will do the rest. Only one person so far from his original request has submitted such details.

Yes and No. The main stations such as Paddington, Reading, Swindon, Bath, Bristol and Taunton have a fair amount of scenery around them. With time the whole route should have scenery. remember it has 1383 route miles and that is an awful lot of scenery work.

Regards John Carr

PS I did not build the route, Derick Joy and Dave Pascoe did all that and have been at it for 3 years. Dave in particular has a full time job, a young baby and a charming wife to look after at the same time. I have done a wee bit of testing for them

Derick
That is very interesting. My Thames-Mersey V3 TDB is 19000 Kb approx for about 1650 TRACK miles, which I guess is about 400-500 route miles.

What I did notice was that putting proper sound regions under bridges etc. added hugely to the TDB size and I guess that with most of Padd-Penzanze not scenerised yet you have not got many sound regions in yet, so something to be aware of.

Will send for my copy next week.

What I'd like to know is....
Would it be worthwhile for me to update the 2 activities I did for version 1 of this route (`Express Relief' and `Par to Truro'), make them compatible with version 2 and upload them again, or have they run their course now ?

Paul......

Any activity is going to be welcomed for GWR v2, so go for it. I'll be the first to try it.

Nigel,
Yes the branch line from St Erth to St Ives is there with some scenery although I suspect that it could be improved.

Lad491,
In addition to the 3 activities, we have provided about 25 Start points to make Explore Mode possible on a route this size.
