Ghost Route in Route Riter
My Route Riter shows up a route with the name "route" which is not shown in Train Store or anywhere that I can find in Train Simulator. It seems to be almost, but not quite, a copy of Severn Valley. Presumably it is held in a file somewhere in Route Riter, but where can I find it and can I then delete it?

Thanks, Mike,
Have sent you an E mail today.
This " ghost route " only appears in "Check all Activities"

I do not appear to have received an email from you. Try
virtualtrains@optushome.com.au
Maybe my Junk email trap removed it, however I usually check them all just in case.

When RR does an Activities check, it does a recursive check of the Routes folder drilling down looking for .act .srv .pat etc files. Unfortunately, sometimes if there is a folder like
Activities\Backup_Activities
it will read that one as well.
I have tried to catch all of these, but sometimes it is not as easy as it sounds.

would it be better Mike if it only looked in a folder called Activities for ACT files, Paths for .PAT etc.
I have noticed while it is scanning for each file type it searches everwhere in the route folder, going through shapes, textures and all, and when one has over 100 routes it seems to be quite a waste of time always looking in the wrong place.
Please dont take this comment as a criticism, as you know I think route-riter is an essential tool!

Going back to Chalksters comment - I did eventually find an unexpected file named "route" inside the Severn valley route folder. It contained wbat I suspect is the original SVR route info. Deleting this file removed the "ghost " route from RouteRiter

Short answer is yes, it would be much better.
Long answer is that it was written this way originally because it was the easiest way to find .eng/.wag files (which are all in different folders, and you have no idea beforehand what those folder names are), and I just used the same routine to find the .act/.srv etc files - When RR was first written most people had about 5 routes, so this took very little time at all.
I have always meant to change this, but it is quite involved as I have recently discovered with v6 going over code you wrote nearly 3 years ago and trying to remember what it was supposed to do.
Maybe one day?
