Postal Order: Cheque and\or Cash?
Where I says you can send off for CD's or premium access, it say Cheque\Postal Order. Does the postal order mean we can send cash in the post to order?

I though sending cash was a bit risky. I've never done a Postal Order before. I take it you take the order form to the Post Office and they send you some sort of voucher\cheque in exchange for cash.NeutronIC wrote:Take the cash to the post office and buy a postal order, do NOT send cash. Ever.
We had one guy sent us £4.50 in 10p pieces, it cost us £1.50 just to accept the envelope, in future we will simply reject cash.

You just take your cash to the post office and buy a postal order with it, you pay a small amount for the service but it's only a few pence i think - the post office don't need to see the order form, just walk in and ask for postal orders to the value £4.50 and they will sort you out with it and tell you how much it will cost.

Shows how much things have changed over the years; when I was a kid, every other birthday present was a Postal Order from some distant relative or other. Wonder what they do now? - Gift Certificate to a favoured store, I suppose...richardpratt wrote:I've never done a Postal Order before. I thinkit was largely because a lot of the relatives didn't have bank accounts, Gary. I remember the sense of pride in how far I'd come up in the world when I opened my first one.
But yes, ten bob was a small fortune then....

As you said, it'll probably never reach you! That reminds me, I have a cheque to write, not for UKTS but rather FfR Society.ianmacmillan wrote:It is risky sending cash because of the amount of post that goes missing.
You should not send cash to Matt.
You can send me as much cash as you want.
