London-Southampton Help Please

Post by joea1 »

Hi everyone I'm new here. I've downloaded all 5 files of this route. I've tried to run it but it said track world instalization failed. I tried again and now every single related file has an error message. What can I do?

This sounds like a problem with the installme.bat file. Try running that again, and see if it corrects the problem. What are the error messages with the related files?

Welcome to the forums by the way! :)

Thanks, It says things like failed to open shape file, shape failed to load, no extended shape data for... I've tried the mosdos installme but thats what created all these errors. Before that it just said track instalization failed. What else can I try?

That's strange, the installme.bat should have worked :-? Are all six default routes installed?

Oops, sorry, I meant all the routes that came with MSTS (Settle-Carlisle etc.), as this is where all the shapes are copied from.

Also, have the files unzipped in the right places? The main jpp2southampton folder should be in the Routes folder, within that there should be some files and more folders, including Shapes, Textures etc.

Ok, I'm running out of ideas here  One last thing to try, download and install the latest version of tsection.dat:

 Click to view more informationTSECTION.DAT build 31 [209435 bytes] - tsection31.zip
File ID: 6698 Date: 01 Oct 2005 - 8938 Downloads

Can anyone else shed some light on this problem?

Unzip to the Global folder in the main Train Simulator directory (although you may want to backup the existing version first)

The only thing I can think of is that UKFS is in a different place to where it should be. I'd try reinstalling this (the shapes go into the Global/Shapes folder, the textures should already be in the jpp2southampton route folder), but apart from that I've got no idea...
