Has anybody else recieved an e-mail from somebody called David C Jones regarding the left hand flying scotsman cab? there is an attachment with a virus in it.So be carefull if you get it.

Haven't seen it yet, but I'll keep an eye out for it..

David Jones, eh ? Glad to see he's got something to do in his spare time when he's not trying to keep Wolverhampton Wanderers up (again!!) heh heh !!

Any idea what the virus is ?

No sorry paul norton found it in the attachment so i dont know what virus it is because it just came up "malicious script" or something similar and deleted it.

I had this as well but deleted it as unsolicited. Not the usual "spoof" type email as the header specifically referred to Flying Scotsman sounds. So someone unwary or less paranoid could easily open this thinking it is a bona fide file.

As far as I can tell it is a bona-fide file. Its a plain word document, no macros. Seems to be a rather select TO list - probably people he's corresponded with in the past. It was only a couple of weeks ago he was asking me about raildriver matters, saying Tim Court has suggested he contact me (and Tim is also on the list)

Well there is a virus in the attached document because norton picked it up.

Well he wrote it to "barbara" cc'd to Vern, me, Timc, you, and various other people. I can see your email address in my copy.

So which virus did you say it was - can you check your norton log.

well, double-click the norton icon, choose "reports", activity logs, virus alerts.

yep, well there was no VBS with the email I received - unless it was stripped by my ISP before sending on, but I don't think they do that.

Well Alan i am not trying to take the pee out of anybody thats what i got but another thing in the e-mail i got he didnt mention about flying scotsman sounds he was on about the left handed cab to this ere Carol.The e-mail addy mine came from is djones@qsd.harvard.edu
