Class 66s and Railwaves 66/67 sounds

Post by bristolian »

Hello. Can anybodu please help? I've just installed the Railwaves Class 66/67 sounds, and printed off the read me. The notes say to look at the relevant locos' eng file and make changes. However, in the Class 66s, or JT42...s that I've downloaded, I cannot find an eng file. How do I make the changes needed, and what part of the locos' fileset points to the d9 sounds?

Thanks, Bob.

Eastest thing to do if find the loco you are looking for. all locos on MSTS have a .eng file. that is what you need. If you have not already assigned it to open with a program it may ask you to choose a program to opne it with. Simple choose either notepad or wordpad (both the same really).

From the press CTRL + F and a 'find' box pops up. type in 'sound', and then it just bring you to the line which has the sound. Its will currently look like this:

( "..\\..\\DASH9\\SOUND\\d9eng.sms" )

All you need to do is delete what ever is in between the brackets and then paste in between them again:

"..\\..\\railwaves\\66.snd\\rw_66_eng.sms"

now save and exit and it should be fine.

Are you using trainstore? If you are, any loco not being used by an activity, doesn't seem to have an .eng file. If so make sure everything is unstored.

Hi

Its best to use Wordpad, as some versions don't save in unicode. Wordpad does on all computers so it is best to use that.
