Trump Cards

Post by jbilton »

Hi
Anyone remember these from the seventies...they covered many subjects but one pack cover British Railways.
The reason I ask is that the new conbuilder includes a button called "Bigones"....so I'll go first...

My longest wagon is....MAV Bmx-014 @ 26.2m.......apparently

there are many sets still around though. We have three sets at work and use them to decide whose turn it is to get the coffee's in. I know several youngsters though, who are still collecting. I dont think top trumps are dead yet.

Yes I was going to say, it wasn't that long ago I picked up a pack myself for nostalgia's sake (and also to explain the idea to my American wife), picked them up from House of Fraser in their novelties section at Christmas :)

I had the British Rail pack - it was always good to get the HST as I remember!

I'm sure I've still got them at my parents house somewhere - must dig them out some time!

Hells Teeth, Top Trumps.

Me and my brother managed to hack off a whole Spantax DC9-15 load of holidaymakers playing Top Trumps loudly all the way from BHX to Palma, and return a fortnight later, way back in the mid 70's. We would mix the Civil airliners pack with the Military jets pack and you were guaranteed to win if you got Blackbird, Concorde, the 747 or Airforce 1, or the C5 Galaxy in your hand.

I've still got my original 1970's pack somewhere.

Yep, my daughter has a few sets: Roald Dahl characters, Return of the King, Dinosaurs. And the missus has the English Rugby Team set, but then she's just a sad old pervert.
