Any one heard anything from JamTheMan recently?

Im in touch with him all the time (Unfortunatly)

Last thing he said he done was Craiginches, But would imagine he has got futher since then.

How much detail is he going into with the surrounding area?

Should be interesting to see how he does the 2 big bridges that really make the route.

Well I really want to be able to come off the south end of the tay bridge, head past tay bridge south signal box now in a nice pink shade. then thunder past my house where the track is almost perpendicular to the bridge (well not quite) and it's only about 300m away.

I just want somewhere to run my ScotRail 170s on except my own route. (Its boring when you use your own and even then my route only goes so far with the lines the 170s run on)

For you it's realism, for me it'sjust looking at what is around....probably why you build real routes and i build fictional.

Im very picky when it comes to realism on my own route. I have even abandoned a few routes as they do not look like the way they should on a map. (I had done Glasgow Queen St to Polmont via Croy and Cumbernauld - scraped) The Glasgow north route which is available to download was probably the best shot i got at that line, It looks ok but had to be abandoned due to problems.

I have decided to try and stick to the Glasgow North lines as my attempt at extending the current build south did not go to well. I will still have Mossend and the Freightliner depot, Springburn works, Polmadie and Yoker EMU Depot.

What your doing there sounds interesting to me Daniel, I have your Glasgow North route and I think it feels quite realistic, especially the bit around Dumbarton and Helensburgh. Am looking forward to your next release wherever it goes.

Niall - that thing about the south end of the Tay Bridge sounds great, so hangon do you live in Wormit right at the south end of the bridge then in one of those houses near the old station? I always enjoy that bit as well, and also going onto the bridge that way from the south, could just imagine Dundee being drawn out of nowhere building by building in MSTS, was crossing the bridge the other night and realised that seems to happen in reality. Or maybe I'm just going insane with too much MSTS...

Yes live near the bridge in wormit, used to cycle though the old "rattay" tunnel on the newport line, fell off once, couldn't see sod, not even my bike haven't a clue how i could get round the corner.

The people living in the houses that were dumped on top of the station (seriously i mean dumped) seem to have found it as well only took them 2 years.

Put simply if he built it without any part of wormit built i would have the road system done in about an hour.

hm 300m seems a bit short now i think about it mabey 600m, the only bit of the railway embankment with big trees on it blocks the sky dish from getting a perfect signal, both neighbours would get perfect signals if they had a dish.

Sounds good. Yeah I have noticed that there is a bit of the station platform at Wormit then the houses seem to start right behind it, I can well believe they were just dumped on top of it. Must have been a pretty cool place when it was still a junction, as must have been the area on the front at Dundee where Tescos is now that there used to be a goods yard in, not to mention another yard on the other side and a second station right next to Tay Bridge station...ah well the curse of youth and only having lived here for 3 years.

Of course there still is something of a yard at Dundee, but the only thing in it ever seems to be a single oil tanker that has probably been there for years.

Oh yeah, dump earth in the gap knock a few holes in the paltform to put steadies in and build house on steadies.

Not sure cool would be the right word for the junction at the south end more like dangerous.

see where the masonic hall/shop is thats straight ahead from the end of the bridge, the tunnel entrance is to the right of the blocked up bridge behind the houses, that tunnel is parallel to the road on the exit which is just behind the post office. (none of which you probably can't see from the train)

Now I'll have to make a special effort to look out for all that stuff when I go across the bridge next time! At least at that bit trains are usually still going relatively slow from the bridge, so it might be possible to spot the post office and stuff, not sure!

But think of the end of the bridge as a situation for a junction...pretty dramatic at least.

Hm, sharp corner, derailment.

I'm sure it would at least look spectacular if you derailed and plunged into the river (in MSTS I mean!).
