hm, Diver Mk2
Wonder what McGonagle would ahve to say about that.
Hm, it seems he had to format his hard drive so the route is lost so we seem to be waiting till July for his hice long 8 or 9 week scottish summer holiday before anything else is done.
Hum.....................
Okay I need dems for file and angus, the gps location of leuchars junction and dundee, a nice model of the second tay crossing, tay bridge north and south signal boxes, wormit stores, various bridges etc.
Okay so how do i convert os grid to gps and i can take a guessie at the height, there won't be much in the way of things to do as it's twin track all the way from the bridge to leuchars, it will be sparsley populated, and i don't really have time to do it.
Oh yeah i could do with track plans, there is only so much you can do from peering over walls and much of it is raised on both sides.
Hum, exams, mabey not then.

McGonagle would probably cut his losses and just say "Oh no not again..". Wonder if the modern day railways would go to the expense of fishing the engine out again.
Darn its a shame that bloke is having to start again ah well just have to hope it appears one day. Meanwhile quite a good site for track plans and stuff especially about the tay bridge is http:\www.railscot.co.uk which I know has a page about it, although I'm not sure if it goes into too much detail.

ah ha this is why
The low girders were built in Middlesboro so they were assumed to be okay.
So what they did was built the new piers and a few new gitders, they built a float that at high tide would pick up the girder and float it over to the new piers and dump the girder on the right hand side of the pier.
Consequently the right hand side of the bridge is built out of the old bridge.

I think your being a bit modest there. Being reasonably familiar with the Queens Street Lower - Helensburgh route, I set up an activity to drive it in the rain with a 314 and found that it captured the dour dreich and soggy atmosphere quite well despite there being no buildings etc. yet. Especially like the parts round Dumbarton and Dalmuir, track is very well placed etc. Of course I know the area and I'm probably easily enough pleased with the place names being on the stations, but its still worth downloading.

Well the track work was mostly guess work. Its now more real and uses Quail Maps from last year. There is now less tight bends on the line as i only used 500M and 250M the last time.
New version has lots of scope for passenger workings.
Im local to the line and have been on it more recently looking at the layout. I have also drove up and down the road beside the Dalmuir - Helensburgh line a bit recently as well and have been making mental notes of the layout of the land. I think this section will be the best on the route if done correct with hills and the Clyde and you can look accross to Gourock/Greenock.
Its a while away yet, But track work is 90% Completed, Stations are 75% Layed and Gantrys are 80% Layed. Once all these are completed i will release a beta, If all goes well it will be fully signaled and i will start on details of the land puting hills and water in place.
Hopefully im going to restart the route building on Sunday and get most of it done. If i stick at it expect the beta in 2 weeks time.
