Hi Guys.
When is a wag file not a wag file. I have a problem at the moment in as much as when booting up an activity I get a message saying Error reading Database Coaches Maroon_P111_BK_Third_5644.Wag but both Activity Analizer and Route Riter says it and others are there. Has anyone else had this type of problem before and if so how was the problem solved. Any comments on this would be helpfull.

Alan.
Thanks for your message, to answer your question the route is Stratford-midland Jn. The activity is Broom Olney Banana and the problem stock is Coaches1(Maroon) File ID 5965) & Coaches2(Maroon) File ID 5967.
Thanks in antisipation.

The problem is that my computer does not like Coaches1(Maroon) File ID 5965) & Coaches2(Maroon) File ID 5967. What I have done is change every wag file in these coaches to BR_EX_LMS coaches wag files to get over the problem. It has fixed it in the short term but I dont like using stock that was not ment for the activity. Will keep you informed about developments & thanks for your help so far.

It doesn't like any of them? Ian suggests that one is faulty as supplied. I have replied to your email about a possible anomoly, but can't check it myself due to not having the rest of the stock
I take it you have installed File ID 2665 the Common Textures for the exLMS Maroon coaches. They won't work unless you do. I haven't found any critical problems with any of the coaches. One of them shows up as a wagon in AE because there is a line missing in the .wag file but it's not operationally significant and is easy to fix if you want to do it. Mark
Once again thanks to all who participated in this thread especially Mark, for his thoughts via his private message Simon for his E-mail with the APK file and Alan for his E-mail on the wag files. However I now realise that the problem is at my end, in as much as my computer does not like the coaches 1(maroon) or coaches2(maroon) because it does nor recognise the wag files, but as soon as I changed over to the BR_EX_LMS_COACHES the problems dissapeared, it is one of those wierd things that happens from time to time in MSTS, so as it stands I can now run the Olney banana train with no problems. Finally Mark yes I did have the common textures for the exLMS Maroon coaches. Anyway guys thanks a million for all your help and advice, perhaps in a day to come I can repay in a small way.

One last thought. I notice that with the exLMS Maroon coaches there is an alternatiave set of textures to download for those having problems with the 1024x1024 ones. They are on file ID 2752 and are 512x512 textures. Obviously there are some cicumstances when the more desirable textures will not run on certain computers (graphics card problem?)
I don't know whether this has any bearing on the problem you were facing but would suggest that, unless curiosity gets the better of you, you are better staying with the coaches you have substituted since if the 512x512 textures did enable you to use the coaches their quality would alas be degraded by the 512x512 textures.
