Extract from the readme file with the route:l2003ynx wrote:Im not sure if this has been asked about or mentioned, but ive noticed a couple of time now while exploring this wonderful route most recently between mossley and runcorn that im getting massive areas with like a white out effect. Just wondering wahts causes this and can it ve fixed?
.White-Out problem
-----------------
As with some other routes, this one also suffers from the 'white out' problem.I have tried all the tricks that I can think of, but cannot solve the white out problem.
This now effects driving from Liverpool to Crewe, Liverpool to Ormskirk and Chester to Crewe. The following procedure, which is also described on the UkTrainsim forums is a work around.
1. When you hit the white out let your train FULLY pass into the white out zone. Hit the F2 key to save the activity.
2. Hit the Escape key and exit activity. Hit the Home button on the activity evaluation screen.
3. Select the option Load Saved Activity and select the route and the activity, which is date and time stamped.

I have had the SMS file thing at Crewe too. I also have had failed shapes trying to load though when I used a less detailed consist it ran better.
I think the main problem is that this route and it's high details pushes the sim to it's limit.
One thing I did not do is when I unpacked it I had some routes stored. I unistalled all the default routes and re did the Mersyside route. Now I will run it again and see what happens

Re: Help!
For anyone with missing files reported can I recommend an excellent program called Route Riter,Gregneary wrote:I have loads of files missing when I try to play this route. The first file that flags as missing is station.singlef.s.... This only started happening after upgrading to v3.
Any help gratefully recieved.

I have installed this excellent route, three times in three different ways.
v1,v2 & v3 all to a temp folder ,then copied and pasted to TS\Routes\ .Ran install bat 1,2 & 3 ,with no problems when running the full length of the route.
Installed v 3 to a temp folder ,then dragged and dropped the v3 files into an already installed v1 & v2 and run the install.bat for v3.Again no problems or missing files when running the route.
Finally ,extracted each zip for all three versions directly to \Program files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Routes\Mersey
Running each .bat file after completing install of each version in sequence.Yet again no problems when running the route end to end.
If you insist on using utilities like Trainstore ,you will have problems when installing routes, that require the copying of default files.

I'll second that, agree totally. WHY don't you just drag and drop them
in I only have one route running within the routes folder at any time
rest are stored outside of Sim and go in instantly when wanted ............Rick

That is not correct. Train Store does not move any of the default files which may need to be copied in a new route installation.1crick14a wrote:If you insist on using utilities like Trainstore ,you will have problems when installing routes, that require the copying of default files.

I dont use trainstore...but I believe it helps manage the correct consists for the correct route ect.
The main problems it causes is that people dont use it correctly....same as they never read readme files etc.
However I'm the worst for being tidy...I've got files spread over 3 drives.
....I must take a week off...and get it sorted...soon.
As I'm busy trying to write activities at the moment I have found that Merseyside 3 really needs to be in its own anyway.
The problem of the missing textures has been resolved and it a WinXP bug...which doesn't recognise files with a , in them.
The missing wav file...is still current...somepeople seem to have it..others dont.Somepeople get the error message around Crewe...I got it around Lichfield...maybe its an MSTS thing that if it stops to report one error...it bothers to tell you about the others?...i dont know.It certainly only becomes aparent when you start to use the route fully.
The error with the platform is from the original file...so everyone has that..but RR sorts that.
The error with the station lamp...only I seemed to have found...but who else has been running in the snow??
Cheers for now
Jon

The more junk you install to your pc the more chance there is that something will go wrong. It`s about good house keeping and less clutter.
As i pointed out i have installed the route three times in three different ways.I have no problems running it and no missing files. My only problems involve signals refusing to come out of the red aspect,on the down relief line.
I only have Mersey v3 and Pats S&C 1920`s installed. My default routes ,like Ricks are stored outside of TS ,in my case on another drive.Only copied and pasted in when i need the files to be copied.

Great route. Cities have never been done better and placing those static consists in RE is definitely a good idea (though they could do with more modern textures). But I don't think all those terraced houses ever looked so clean...
A quick problem. MSTS crashed just outside Lichfield due to the following missing file:
LNW_T5_Lichfield_T,V_No1_L_Room.ace
A quick check in sview confirms that the s and sd files are there but not the texture.
