That usually means MSTS is having a problem reading a texture file or shape file related to this piece of stock. Will be ok in AE because MSTS does not look at the texture files here only when you try to run the game.
Try exploring any route and use the 37 to drive - see if it crashes.

I have downloaded all parts of the Thames-Mersey route, including patches.
I have installed each version one at a time.
After installing version 1 - all OK
After installing version 2 - all OK
But after installing version 3 - I cannot get it to run at all.
After selecting the route (explore mode or an activity) it generates the
terrain buffers and then starts the 'setting up simulation' bit. After
a short while I get the following error message and then TrainSim just
bombs out completely.
Error : Region load error - parent PointsIndicator does not exist
I thought it might be a tsection problem - so I have tried 3 different
tsection.dat files in the route folder for this route - same error.
1. Is the crash the same when running explore mode and an activity, and if so which activity are you trying run?
2. In explore mode where are you starting from?
3. How long does it take to load MSTS first screen - if it more than about 3-4 minutes, then try renaming the Mersey\Paths folder to PathsOld, create a new Paths folder and then just copy a couple of paths in from the PathsOld folder.
4. Have you got the patch files 3-1 and 3-2 installed?

After reading about the 'too many paths' problem that others have had, I reduced the number of paths and managed to get the route working.
The parts I saw looked awesome - I can see why so much praise has been posted about this route ... so many thanks to everyone involved.
However, after trying to install some activities (downloaded from UKTrainSim), things have gone wrong again.
So, as I type this message, I have completely uninstalled MSTS, deleted all traces of routes, train and the whole software package.
I am going to re-install from scratch ...
I will install the FULL default MSTS software and all routes etc.
I will then install the latest versions of ...
X-Tracks
Route Riter
TrainStore
I will install the routes \ add-ons that I have bought using all of the usual options ... these routes are :-
MidEast UK
Severn Valley Railway
SVR Diesel Gala add pack
London Brighton Express (I do not own the LBE add pack)
NWE v2
Once I have checked that they all work correctlyI will then re-install your Thames-Mersey route - each version at a time - but I will delete the paths folder after installing version 2 and before installing version 3 (another person said that this worked for them).
Have I missed any important installations and procedures? I am not an expert at TrainSim but I have used a PC for many years - so I can understand most techie talk.
When you release this route on CD I will definitely be one of the first in the queue to buy a copy - many thanks.
Give this a try - it should work but let me know how you get on. Of course the problem with activities that you download could be related to the rolling stock.

I am not sure that there is a maximum as such, but the loading time increases the more paths that you have. Have you got trainstore installed - well worth it if you got lots of routes installed.

To answer your previous question - I do have TrainStore and I am learning how to use it effectively.
In Thames-Mersey 3, when I select a start point for Explore Mode, eg, Coventry, the train does not start where I've selected but usually in the middle of nowhere (if you see what I mean). Of course I am able to drive to train and explore the route OK. Is this simply a case that the path might say it starts at Coventry but your route doesn't?
I haven't tried all of the start locations but I've seen mention of London Underground stations ... does your route have Underground routes?
The route does not cover all the start and destination points described in the paths - the alternative is for example to describe the path that would be used for an AI train from Birmingham to Glasgow, Start Middle of nowhere south of Stafford to End middle of nowhere north of Warrington.
The path name simply suggests where the train would have started/finished. Have you downloaded the route map yet - this will explain exactly what the route covers at the moment.
There is the section of London Underground from just south of Queens Park to Harrow & Wealdstone/Watford Junction, but that is simply included because it parallels the WCML at the point.
On Merseyside there is the complete Merseyrail underground network included, although the Wirral side of the Mersey is not completely scenerised yet.
Hope that you will enjoy the route.

I have just installed the route and agree that it is superb. I am still getting the signal at red problem north of Rugby when coming off the Northampton line around the back (eg not through the platform, but modified the path to go through the platform and now get no problems.
One thing I have experienced which hasn't been mentioned here (hence I think it may be a stock problem and not a route problem) but I would appreciate any advice.
I had a "Game over - broken coupling". This occurred on the down slow between Madeley and Crewe Basford Hall. Just after (I think!!) a joggle in the p/way. The train was a freightliner with automatic couplers at the ends and bar couplers on the intervehicle couplings between freightliner flats. I suspect you will tell me to make all couplings automatic - I have with everything else!!
One other point whilst I'm on - these freightliners seem to have pathetic brakes - how do I beef 'em up a bit?
