Simple. Get the Enhanced Track Audio package from http://www.railwaves.com and install it to this route.

The default track sounds below are 85mph are dreadful!

Why not just use the free set on this site?

Hi
I dont have the LBE..wouldn't appeal to me..but yes unfortunately it would appear that the sounds side of commercial products..is a somewhat neglected area.

I'm looking forwards to railwaves WSR...mainly for the 117...but I'll wait a couple of weeks...as hopefully someone will give it a proper subjective review.

I've heard of these track sounds...are they worth the money?...(as some of the default ones are dreadfull)...but I have all the freeware track enhancement sounds installed already..flange squels, bogie coach etc.

The railwaves enhanced track audio is superb. I have it on the Cambrian route and Vern's Highland routes. It really is fantastic to hear the clickety-clack under one of the DMUs, especially if you're coasting. Turn the volume up HIGH to annoy the neighbours. :)

I don't think it would fit in on the London-Brighton route, especially in the modern guise, as Railwaves is jointed track sounds only (as far as I'm aware) and L2B is mainly continuous welded rail in real life.

I think you can listen to a sample on the railwaves.com website.

ProTrain 3, 4 and Semmering have great track sounds which I use on everything now. The default ones are pathetic, they give no sense of motion whatsoever, but the PT ones are great- and the routes are worth buying for themselves, of course.

Railwaves sounds are route orientated, whereas the steam track sounds are rolling stock orientated. Can cause a bit of a clash where both are in use. No disrespect to the free version but I do prefer the Railwaves as the steam track (on my system at least) has a habit of distorting and sounding like it's playing though a long pipe. Also (if you're brave enough) Railwaves includes a points effect sound file so you can go into Route Editor and place sound regions at junctions etc. for the correct point clatter.

Hi
Yes ...having only just got the Cambrian (Nice route Vern...only it would have been nice to have driven a bit of the VofR...how about a patch please :D )....I've been fiddling all weekend...to get the DMU how I would have liked it out of the box.
It amazed me that the wagons were setup to use steampasswag (clickty clack if you use enhanced steam sounds)....but the DMU wasn't...only took 2 secs to make it do it...so it now sounds just like that sample on railwaves.(Yes I've put it back to the Kiha31 sounds as I thought it sounded like a cross between a Lancaster and a Warship  )
Not sure I like the sound of a conflict Vern....but I do like the sound of the points but do you simply have to place a sound sorce at each set of points...or is it more complicated like tide to the signals etc.
And is it a sound which operates when the blades move..ie more usefull on shunting yards...or just a sound which works when you rattle through at high speed.
Sorry for so many questions....but having recently spent a few quid on products I dont want to waste anymore.
I am looking forwards to their WSR...maybe they will have used these point sounds....hope so.
Supposed to be a class 117, class 50 and Hymek all with cabviews and custom sounds.
Latest news is that it was sent to the publishers on Friday...they took 4 weeks with the NVR...so that would mean a release date of 18 June 2004.

Class 50? Wouldn't that be the MS Default one?

Only that its been based in modern times....complete with the 225 ,HSTs and Class317....possibly a local DMU (cant guess which that model will be  )
I was rather hoping it was based around 1965-1970 when the "White Rose" used to run...and to see some new models...(green 47s,40s,deltics,31s etc)....I can dream I suppose.

I believe you set the Railwaves point sounds as any other sound region, with a yellow marker where you wish them to start and a second yellow marker where you want the default (or other) track sound to recommence. I've not modified any of my routes for this as it would have caused distribution problems (there is no default Kuju equivalent sound region effect) though when I get round to reinstalling MSTS I may modify my personal route installs.

Yes there is a conflict between Railwaves and the Steam Track sounds, in that if you are driving a route with Railwaves installed but also have Steam Track installed and using rolling stock which references this, both try to play at once. So really, it's one or the other - though with the slight complication that Severn Valley installs the (rolling stock) steam track sounds by default and once in, very hard to get rid of.

When was this announced? I cant find anything about it. Supposed to be based in the early 90's from what ive seen. hardly modern day.

1965 - 70 though, whats wrong with Mideast in that case?

Sorry didn;t mean to mislead anyone.... the use of the term "Modern" is subjective and open to various meanings.
I've afraid I lump anything post BR era as "Modern" and so of little interest to me personally.
Nothing wrong with Mideast...(apart from the previously discussed problems)..I love it....but it dont go to York...or even Doncaster.
And is set in about 1985 era so still a little "modern" for my tastes.
When I heard the Term "White Rose" I immediately thought of the train that used to run with that name in the 1950s-1960s.
I've still got Merseyside to look forwards to :P .....but I'm really an Eastern man at heart.
