i have recently bought the saitek x45 joystick and throttle and was wondering if maybe i could use the throttle part to move the throttle on train simulator if so how would i go around acheiving this

Probably not. TrainSim doesn't use a regular game engine, so joystick/throttle thingies won't usually work with it. RailDriver is the only piece of hardware for this and it took some very clever electronis and careful widgeting to get it to emulate real controls. Check their website for more information

It should work, the x45 throttle is fully programable, ill try and get some info.

You can set up some joysticks so that axis actually output a keystroke instead of axis information. For example, program the throttle to output D's and A's and the keystroke would get passed to the sim. never tried it though

I have no idea how similar an x-36 is to an x-45, but it might help.

Any news on the x45? have you got the throttle to work with MSTS??
