I am having a problem with building an MSTS route which is quite puzzling, as this has never happened before, when I have been designing routes previously.
Basically, when I try, in Editors and Tools, to put certain track sections in, I get three error messages as follows:
the first is “No extended shape data for ****â€

It sounds like you are selecting track or road items to install that are listed in the tsection file, but for which you don't have the shape files installed (eg Xtracks or UKFS etc. sections.)

It is possible to get Route-riter to shrink the tsection file so it just includes the track and road shapes you have installed so you shouldn't then get that error, but keep a backup of the tsection file incase you decide to expand the range of shapes by adding the other packages.

Cambrian Coast just used standard track sections but I believe LBE includes a modified tsection.dat which lists various X-Track etc. components, which will cause error messages if you highlight them in RE.

I think if you switch thumbnails off you don't get error messages when you highlight the item, but it is a bit of a nightmare trawling through to find the valid track sections.

As John says, Route-Riter will make you a tsection.dat which only includes the track sections you have in your Global\Shapes folder. However if you have the latest tsection.dat v0023, then you will have to use the latest RR version v5.0.58 to carry out this change as there were a few incompatabilities between v0023 and earlier RR versions.

Many thanks for all your help ideas. I'll try to solve the problem using Route riter, and will report back.
Best wishes,
Stuart. :)
