SR Maunsell Q class 0-6-0

Post by BR7MT »

Is anyone doing or planning to do a model of the Maunsell SR Q class 0-6-0 freight engine?

If not then I would like to reserve it!

Dan Hamblin

(Edit: I did search the forums and found no mention of anyone planning a model)

I don't think anyone is planning it, so go for it :)

Kim's is the Bullied Q1, not the Maunsell Q which was a much more conventional looking 0-6-0, a bit like a Midland Fowler.

Hi all

The Maunsell "Q" Class had a general purpose of "Freight" with a tractive effort of 26,157lbs and 20 were built Nos 30530 to 30549 from 1938 onwards but also ran on passenger trains when required

As Martin says it is very similar to the L.M.S. Fowler 4-F Class introduced in 1924 - tractive effort 24,555lbs - 580 built (11 of which ran on the Southern Region)

They both had the same power classification of 4-F

Kindest Regards

Mike

Good to hear we have another Southern modeller.
What are you using to build it?

Hi guys,

decapod, I'm using gMax as its free plus I will be able to transfer some of the skills I learn on it over to flightsim as and when I return to it.

I don't plan on announcing when construction starts, I'll just announce when I need testers for it. That way I can work in my own time and not have the "vapourware" problem to deal with.

I will though be going down to the Bluebell some time to photgraph the last survivor extensively.

regards

Dan
