Might go out and photograph this working, it will be the first time I've seen steam on the mainline. I don't know the line very well so can anyone recomend a good spot between Malton and Scarborough? Might even go to Filey for the return working but that will depend on the weather and I'm not too keen on hanging around waiting.

Try Kirkham Abbey - it's between York and Malton, and there's some really good photo opportunities there! If I get chance, I'll be on top of the small hill to the north-east of the signalbox - great for the video cameraTOMMO79 wrote:Might go out and photograph this working, it will be the first time I've seen steam on the mainline. You can get a raised view of it passing through Seamer from the footpath near Morrison's Supermarket.TOMMO79 wrote:Might go out and photograph this working, it will be the first time I've seen steam on the mainline. THE YORKSHIRE COAST RAILWAY, released as freeware (CD & download) on 26th Feb 2005.
The weathermen have forcast snow tommorow which isn't the best thing to travel in on a motorbike so I'll have to give this one a miss
Good luck to those out with their camera's tommorow, hopefully the weather will be on my side for the last runs over Shap.
