Bad moderation

As far as Im concerned locking my previous post on Commerialisation was bad moderation. This is a forum for general msts discussion. None of my points were inflamatory and I think locking the post because it had been discussed before was wrong.
I could have posted on an existing thread but felt that my points were valid and would be a different tack on what is a highly topical subject.
I shall be less keen to air my views in future Im afraid

I think it was more due to a similar thread recently that it was locked, as the discussion is not wished to be continued.

I managed to miss that thread though :-?

I don't think Matt locked the post because of your content, which was well presented, but more because it may have led to a repeat of the thread that refused to die, and so had to be put out of it's misery. :)

~Terry~

Definately to soon to discuss this subject again but it will inevitably come up again and anyone that missed out last time will get another chance.

It must be frustrating to see an interesting thread locked and the more people that participated could've prevented it going around in circles and tempers being lost :-?

It's a subject I'd never start a thread on but there's always someone who will :D

Pity it was locked out before NVR came out because that would have really fanned the flames!

There's always a possibility that was a consideration but there's nothing to suggest that :-?

Spitfires - It wasn't anything in the slightest about *your* post, but the topic of your post was such that it would have *guaranteed* to start anothe 20 page heated discussion like the one we only just got through.

A couple of months from now, maybe my stress levels will allow me to balance that kind of conversation again but personally I don't know if there were any different views to be expressed on the subject, most people had a good airing and got their thoughts out covering most of the different views, people got upset, people got angry, but some people moved forwards on it. Overall, it was a positive thread but it was so dangerous I am just not happy to have another one like it so soon.

Matt.

It's a subject which obviously occupies many members minds. Member's attitudes, both collectively and individually, continue to evolve.

Mike Simpson will have a surprise when he comes back :D

PS My favourite subject is the Iraq War which anyone who looks at the Open Forum will confirm
