If you like steam then get Skipton. Its one of the best.

However as a newbie you might be better buying Ruabon (Bala Hub).
As well as being a fantastic route, this comes with a good and varied set of stock which will be useful on other routes and activities.

Cannock Chase is mainly steam, and yes it is quite good.

Paddington Penzance only has scenery over a part of the route (Paddington and Exeter-Penzance), although as you may imagine it's a huge project and is being added to all the time.

Doesn't Paddington-Penzance have any "white tile" problems, i.e. all the scenery disappearing? I'm only wondering, because if it uses the correct co-ordinates it must cross the -6144, -6145 tile boundary. This is why the 3DTS GWML had to be abandoned.

My vote would be Skipton to Carlisle - definitely one of the most impressive ive seen. Driving steam isn't too difficult if you let the AI fireman do the firing.

That's interesting - didn't know they were going to do one.

Couldn't they just not use the correct co-ordinates - shift the whole thing west - it doesn't make any difference to MSTS where the route is.

Skipton gets my vote - if you prefer diesel, then drive diesels!!!! I always find the route entertaining with a 31 and load 10!!!

Someone did say, search for -6144 - because of the MSTS geography it's not north-south, it slants slightly east.

I went and ordered NRR and CC3. Skipton is next on my list. Thanks for your views and opinions everyone!
