What is the MAX file size for MSTS?
Is there a limit to the size of the Microsoft Train Sim file before it becomes unworkable? My file is at the moment 5.82GB. Is it also possible to run two copies off two Hard Drives? E.g some route and rolling stock on one hard drive and some on the other keeping the file sizes on both copies smaller. I would to know who has the biggest file size out there?

MSTS starts to go weird when you have over about 700 consists - the actual figure varies because servies and paths also come in to play.
Some people have two or 3 installs for running different sorts of routes - but IMHO the best general-purpose solution is to use Train Store
My trainstore stats tell me I have 76 routes, 1,166 activities, 5,040 services, 2,898 consists, 1,042 engines and 2,549 wagons. Trainsim folder is 30GB.

I use Train Store - I only ever have one route loaded (out of 40
) at a time.
Commercial routes such as SVR or Cambrian Coast load in about 5 secs. Of freeware, Mideast is the slowest at 20 secs, Bala Hub takes about 10 secs. I've got a shuttle with an AthlonXP 2.4, as recommended on the site.
I couldn't do without it (oh, and I have about a dozen more freewares to install - Vysocina and Lehigh Valley are currently at the top of the list).
I've just checked my TrainSim Folder Size - it's 16.5Gb. Hmmm, think I might need a bigger drive soon...
