Monday 9th/Channel 4/Men of Iron

Post by petermakosch »

A new 3-part program begins on monday, channel 4 called "Men of Iron". The picture is one of Stepenson, and scanning through the proggie explanation is mentioned Brunel to, so it could be quite good, maybe about the building of the bridges and trains/rails?

Yeah, this should be worth watching. it's been on T.V. before (I have the book that accompanied the series) but I missed it before, so I'll have to check it out this time :)
And on the 5th day God (Brunel) created the Box Tunnel, The Tamar Bridge, The SS Great Eastern, The Clifton Suspension Bridge etc etc

Blimey, Brunel is getting a lot of media coverage these days! Has he got a new agent or something? Wonder who the third Man of Iron is, assuming it's one programme per man?

Yep he had a big publicity officer called Jeremy Clarkson :D who did a great job in his documentary on him for the 100 greateest Britons Poll.........

I reckon thought it is about time Brunel was given the national recognition he deserves,

Though Treverthick deserves more than he currently has

Hmm, sounds like it could be interesting.

I'll have to tape it I suspect though, ready for watching at a less busy time. I'm hoping to put a lot of route building effort in next week to make up for my laziness in terms of MSTS this week.

When was it last aired?
Project H2P status: Currently awaiting software to fix PC problems. Got a start on .mkr file, hoping to continue that soon. Wprk should re-commence very soon.
