No mate.
You have played right into the hands of South Eastern trains by believeing, and passing on, their excuse.
It was actually due to their new plastic trains refusing to work in the snow.
If you don't believe me then try this line of thinking.
All of South Eastern trains 411 fleet are based at Ramsgate, yet every one of these units were in active service yesterday, so why weren't they stuck to the tracks like the rest of the trains?
You can ask any experienced railway person, and they'll all tell you trains don't get frozen to the rails.
For the non southern / technical people, 411's are slam doors trains, known as 'CEPs'

Thoguht that was a bit weird..... Surley nothing short of welding the wheels to the track would stop a bit of juice to the motors freeing it... even if it was only to get lots of wheel slip.
Funny excuse though.
In fact.... if the trains are "stuck" to the track down there... how come Scotrail manage to run winter services on the far north.. and other northern lines. Or even... How the hell do the scandanavian railways run?

I was led to beleive the problem with the electrostars was the complicated ICU unit, which shuts down the traction unit to prevent interference with the signalling system, however there is a "frosty" subroutine which checks to see if it cold and disables the ICU temporarily, unfortuately it would appear that the subroutine was not enabled in the onboard pc.......
If there are any fitters from SC or SET...NOT SWT, they will probably be able to explain it better.

Well i wouldn't expect a sensible answer out of a Thameslink bloke, after all, most of their units have wheel flats so bad i sounds like you're actually riding behind a kettle on wheels, doing 16 beats to the bar {chimney wise}
Either way, they weren't stuck to the rails.

Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean its not sensible (apart from being FACT).thedarkness wrote:Well i wouldn't expect a sensible answer out of a Thameslink bloke, after all, most of their units have wheel flats so bad i sounds like you're actually riding behind a kettle on wheels, doing 16 beats to the bar {chimney wise}
