Hmmm, I'm on dial-up - must be a local problem. All of my other internet services are fine. Call to BT tommorrow then, that'll test my patience!

LOL. Not now. What is that train in your avatar anyway?

I have BIG problems with ntl. If you thought BT were bad, try ntl for a while. You'll soon be annoyed with ntl, and rather BT! Guarenteed!

I was having problems with outgoing email a few days ago. I have BT Broadband and have subscribed to their £1.50 a month supplementary mail service. All outgoing mail is routed through the BT mail server.

Although it had worked fine without it up till then, I found I had to go into the account settings and change the ones for SMTP to log on with the username and password. No more problems with outgoing mail. Appears BT may have changed their security levels but not told anyone.

dunno, but btopenworld has been bouncing email to a friend of mine in East Anglia - may be part of the same thing

I have had problems with e-mails recently but i put it down to adding another e-mail address to outlook express.Sometimes it takes about three attempts before i get oulook express to work properly but i have signed up to ntl broadband and they are installing it a week on thursday.Just of a matter of interest bt wanted £87 to install broadband...ntl is free install £8:99 for the first three months and then i think it is £17:99 per month after that. :)

To be honest I am questioning whether Broadband is worth the extra money. After downloading thw Windows Updates and a couple of other big files I had my eyes on, apart from being a bit quicker at getting downloads everything else works the same speed anyway.

After the 12 month min. period I may go back to dial up (or try a cheaper slightly slower connection such as Tiscali).
