Where to go next?

Post by 37sRuleOK »

OK I'm fast losing patience with Nuneaton...I mean the train-watching there sometimes isnt bad at all, OK so there's not a great abundance of Grids and tractors - there usually isn't any actually - but 47s, 57s, 43s, 60s, 66s and the very occasional 67 can be seen.

No, it's the people. You may recall I got my eye blacked last year by a small gang of tracksuited young people who disagreed with me over the validity of my train-watching habit.

Well, guess what. The very same morons were back yesterday. Outside the station this time, so as I left...*eeeks!* There they were. Just casually walked on past, head looking down at the floor...a few metres past them, I instincively burst into a run. Good job really, cos they'd had the same idea.

Down the street, round a corner I ran, them following, saying stuff like "if you like trains so much, we'll throw you under one..." anyway, ran to the Bus Station, at which point they stopped cos they knew there'd be lots of people about, and I turned round to see em slouching their way back up to the station. My bus was there, so I hopped on and went home.

So, no injuries this time, except maybe my pride needs mouth-to-mouth. (I wasn't assaulted this time, so should I go to the cops? I aint too faithful in today's legal system...)

So basically, that does it - I'm sick of Nuneaton, I might start going elsewhere...

But where should I take my first foray from Nuneaton? - B/ham NS or Tamworth? These are the two I have earmarked as potential new "watching" places, they're both reasonably local.

first stop, i think, should be the local police station. Most stations these days have closed circuit tv and that incident amounts to threatening behaviour. I would go to the police, lodge a formal complaint and ask them to check the CCTV so you can identify the culprits.

Yobs like that shouldn't be allowed to get away with that sort of behaviour.

Don't go to BNS then, it'll be worse...

I can't see how their threat would satisfy a love of trains anyway...

I can't think og a good place near you to go watching, as I don't know the area. Swansea is great fun for 43s :D

It's disappointing to see that there are intellectually challenged people out that are just *so* convinced about their feelings of self righteousness, but who are actually sadly the victims of coke fueled advertising meetings in Soho and miss-informed media outlets. So much so they have the propensity to act like farm animals. Personally I would have no scruples whatsoever in reporting these unfortunate beings to the authorities for professional attention.

Go to local police and make your case known.

Don't let the B-------s Grind you down.

I can remember being water bombed waiting for a train at Appleby whilst I happened to have a camera in my hand.

See the BTP, they take a very tough stance on assaults nowadays :)

Thanks

remember 37s, if you feared for your safety (and it's obvious that you did) that qualifies as assault. i know a few btp officers, i'll see if any of them cover nuneaton.

:) I really appreciate the offer, but I'll pass, more hassle than its worth really. I didn't get hurt this time, I'll just be thankful and forget about it methinks....

As I said,

dont let the B-----ds grind you down, I'd personally contact BTP, it would be best option, as it won't do any harm to.

Go to the police! They have got away with assaulting you once, and the second time they recognised you and evidently considered making it a second time is it worth the extra hassle to go to Tamworth or BNS because of them? Bearing in mind you could well still encounter them on the train or outside the station.

Don't let them get away with it! GO TO THE POLICE. They are criminals, and deserve the full force of the law.

You were lucky this time - next time you might not.

Don't bother with the BTP, they'll only fob you off. Check if the station has CCTV aswell.
