31435 and 31467 ar both now available for download, but for some reason arnt appearing on the UKTS homepage or the newest files page, but if you look in the class 31 section they are bopth there....bizarre!
anyways after good feedback from the testers ive decided to make them available.
RE repaints....please read the README and follow my wishes within it!
if you want the headlights/ETH boxes removing drop me an email, or if you want snowploughs adding drop me a mail requesting what you want, but bare in mind that it may take me time do what you requested(maybe a week or more) as i start a new job on monday on bizarre shifts, so it could be awhile before i get the chance to do the deed!

Those look very real indeed.
Brings back memmories when I used to Drive those Loco's.

Very handy in their time for Ballast Trains, Local Trips and Shunting.
You could leave the power in notch 1 when laying Ballast and still apply the Engine Brake to Control the movement, You should try doing the same with a Class 37.
Open the Power a bit(nothing) a bit more (nothing) just a touch more (surge in comes the lot) many a Trackman was injured whilst trying to perform the same operation with a Class 37 Loco(even more fun with a pair of them) I think they were eventually banned from such operations unless they were fitted with Slow Speed Control Equipment.

Also you should try Shunting with a Class 66 Loco.

I don't think I will be Driving anymore Class 31 Loco's in my Career as Freightliner won't hire in any Class 31 Loco's, although we already have a form of one called a Class 57 a Class 47 Body with a Class 31 sized Engine inside.

Do you get to Drive the Class 31 on the East Lancs Railway ?

Anyway the models are very good and I will be able to find good use for them.

cant say im a big fan of 31's myself, altho they do make a nice noise, but thats all they have going for them! I can understand why frieghtliner dont hire any in, as they would proberbly need to be doubleheaded all the time to be of any use..a) for power b) for insurance case 1 fails!
I do get to drive D5600 on the ELR and it is a nice loco, its ideal for a preserved railway, type 2 power, so will handle trains upto 8-9 cars quite happily up the ELR, ETH fitted, easy to maintain and plenty of spares available...its understnadable why so many are in preservation, ive also had my hands on D5518 when it was at the lancs and D5500 when it was visiting...(abliet as a secondman) D5500 is quite weird to drive!!!

I'm a big fan of 31s...... You always had a chance of being rescued by something interesting when they failed!!!!!

difficult to explain really, the actually performance of D5500 is about the same as any bog standard 31..pathetic!.....but the driving desk layout is very different, you have this handle which is nicknamed a toffee apple, mainly because it looks like one, which you inserted into this box thing on the driving desk, you have to turn it to change direction, and lift a latch etc to get it out of engine only(neutral).
It had 12notches on the power. and to apply power you pushed the apple away from you with your right hand towards the windscreen...a very bizarre machine indeed!!!!!!!!!

Sounds very weird! Saying that I once drove a Fiat Diesel Loco in Poland which had a desk full of buttons. You could manually do field diverts and the dead mans handle was a series of button you had to press in order, which kept changing! The Polish driver seemed to know when it changed but I couldn't see anything informing him. Still I couldn't ask him because he spoke Polish and I speak English!
